Official Website

Customers visiting the official Virginia Motor Vehicles Department website http://www.dmv.virginia.gov/home/#/ can access online services, learn about drivers licenses and identification cards, vehicle registrations, commercial vehicle registrations and highway safety. In order to expedite your time at your local office, the website allows customers to print forms.

Social Media

When we visited the social media pages of the Virginia Motor Vehicles Department, there were several conversations between the customer service department and customers. The customer service department responded to concerns in approximately 60 minutes. If the customer service department could not answer questions on social media, an agent asked if the customer could call the hotline.

Customer Service Email

The only email address listed on the website was a customer feedback form. We filled out the form and sent our message asking if the department could provide us with a dedicated email address for the customer service department. We are still awaiting a response from the customer service team.

Our Experience

Similar to the local DMV office, we waited when we called the Virginia Motor Vehicles Department. In fact, we waited more than 15 minutes. After the agent answered the call, we encountered a major concern. When we asked questions about licensing, the agent was unaware of all of the laws and needed to transfer the call. This process put the call on hold for an additional 10 minutes. By the time the agent answered the call for the second time, there was a noticeable disdain in their voice. Even though we received an answer to our questions, the length of the call was not acceptable. When you connected with the Virginia Motor Vehicles Department, were your concerns resolved in a timely fashion? Was our experience an anomaly? We want to hear from customers from you. Shout out your thoughts with us in the comment section.
