Social Media

We connected with the customer service department through social media. We noticed several conversations between the customer service department and customers. The average response time to customer concerns was less than 12 hours.

Customer Service Email

We sent a message to the customer service department asking about the pricing structure for upgraded service. After sending our message, we received an automated response stating the customer service department would reply within 48 hours.

Our Experience

Reaching HughesNet was challenging. When we called the customer service department, we encountered the automated response system; we made the appropriate selection and waited. In fact, we waited on hold for more than 10 minutes. After our wait, the agent answered the call. We have to note the customer service agent was not professional and was rather rude. We did ask several questions relating to MyHughesNet, the online webpage. Although the agent answered our concerns, the level of service was not acceptable. Was you experience better than our experience? We want to hear from customers just like you. Take a moment to share your thoughts with us in the comment section.

  1. All I can say I was lied to!Also don’t like the idea of NOTHING given to me like a contract the smart ass said it would be mailed to me,also was going to mail me a check for $200.00 for signing up!I thought it was going to be $39.99 as that is what my daughter pays,I was told that wasn’t correct never was and never would be only for 3 mos.at the beginning of my contract!Played me a recording that went so damn fast didn’t understand it!I feel I have been taken by a company that is a liar.I also don’t like the way I’m paying my bill.I told the ass I wanted a paper copy of what I’m paying for.I’m a senior citizen on a fixed income and I’m concerned about this co.after reading all the complaints about how you do business.Got your number out of the phone book a mistake asked the person where he was and he said Utah!
should have been a red flag.I will be writing a letter and also turning you into our state Attorney General! My Email- carolyn.durham.40gmail.com I DO expect a return E-mail A very unsatisfied customer,Carolyn Durham

  2. Never use Hughes net, especially if you have a security camera. THey neglected to ask that when trying to decide which plan is “best” for you!!! I only lasted a month. When I tried to cancel my plan, I was “disconnected” several times! I am now trying to find a working fax number to get reembursed for shipping the equipment back to them!!!

  3. I had Hughsnet installed a month ago it worked long enough for them to get my signature. It’s been a living nightmare ever since I’ve made complaints to the FCC the Ohio Attorney General. Their customer service is horrible, been promised callbacks at least 10 times never a callback system still doesn’t work. This company is a joke. Told him to take the piece of junk off the roof. Then was prompted told you owe us $405 early termination fee.

I can’t believe this company is still in business; wake up people who think they will be getting a great deal….these people are liars and my complaints are so similar to#1; #2 & #3. My Discover card people can’t even get answers and help. This company needs to be put out of business asap! And to top it off, the person who was setting up the “contract” was way out in Arizona & had to set me up with a person from Direct TV to set up a dish in addition to the one Hughes had already set up! That’s when I
CANCELLED & knew this was a scam company….

  4. Unfortunately, I sat here waiting for an engineer to telephone me with my issue today at 7 a.m. It now is 11:25 a.m. and I have to leave. Not a single person that works in that place phoned me. Jason promised me that I would have a phone call from an engineer …… phhhhbbbbbbt. This company is really pissing me off.

  5. I cannot send emails to my contacts. I have tried and it will not go through. I purchased Hughes Net so I could do so. How do I get my emails to work. I want to send emails to many people and so far I cannot. Please help me with this problem. I cannot get a representative to talk to about this problem….

  7. When i receive a contact from a webpage I use all the time hughes.net cuts off my email program and will not sign me into my account again. When I post pictures and updated data to a site named Mindat.org this server stops my email program. how can I avoid having this happen again?

  8. HughesNet is a ‘piece of work’-meaning-scam artists! I called to upgrade my plan, and they did (doubling my bill from $88 to $166). Then when I called to DOWNGRADE my service, because it was too expensive, they told me that I couldn’t. They said that I wasn’t the “account holder”. When I asked how they could have allowed me to upgrade but not downgrade-they told me that the HughesNet rep who had allowed me to upgrade was as fault. I then faxed in an official “account transfer” document. When I called to confirm and try, again, to downgrade my service, they told me that they hadn’t received my fax, and to allow more time for them to confirm that they had received the fax(it had been a week since I faxed so I faxed the same paperwork AGAIN). They still don’t have the account transfer…what a joke, but I’ll keep trying!
