Contacting Kaplan Customer Service Center
When you think of Kaplan, for-profit school of higher learning comes to mind. Although Kaplan is a for-profit university, it provides much more. The organization is one of the leading sources for higher education testing material and training courses for professionals. Throughout the history of for-profit organizations, several businesses have been investigated by the federal government due to the amount of debt incurred. The result is several phone calls to the corporate offices from customers demanding answers. If calling is not your style, Kaplan provides other options to reach a customer care agent or the corporate offices. You can send communication via email, traditional mail or through social media.

Official Website
When visiting the official Kaplan website http://www.kaplan.com/, you have the ability to learn about the programs, learn about the organization and even apply for careers. When you visit the main page, you can learn about paying for school, what you need for admissions and the overall student experience.
Social Media
Customers can connect with Kaplan on social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter. When we visited the each social media page, we noticed active communication between customers and what appeared to be customer care agents. This may be a better option in order to receive real-time feedback from Kaplan.

Customer Service Email
Considering there were several email addresses for Kaplan and none were designed for customer service, we decided to send a message to all. Our message concerned applying for financial aid. I particular, if Kaplan provides counselors trained to assist potential students who need help. We are still waiting for a representative to provide and answer.

Our Experience
Reaching the customer service department was quite an experience. We encountered the standard automated system directing calls to the appropriate department. What we noticed was Kaplan did not necessarily have a general customer service department. Instead, the company allows customers to communicate with an educational specialist. We can only assume this is similar to a customer service agent. We waited for approximately 5 minutes before having the opportunity to speak with an “agent”. When the agent answered the call, the conversation appeared to be one-sided. The agent asked several questions about us, with little to no time to respond before asking another. When we were able to ask questions, the responses appeared to be forced and provided without thought.
The overall feeling after the call ended was Kaplan wants you to sign up, but provides little support. Did you have a similar situation when you contacted Kaplan? Take a moment to share your thoughts below.
