Our Experience

The Wall Street Journal customer service phone is voice activated. Simply press 0 to be immediately transferred to customer service department. Angie answered the call and immediately asked what state our paper was delivered to. We asked Angie to quote us the total price for one year of the Wall Street Journal delivered to our home address. She quoted the introductory price of $6 per week for 52 weeks or $312. We asked if the price stayed the same after the first year and she said she would have to check. After waiting on hold for about 20 seconds, she verified the price increases to almost $10 a week after the first year and that the payments are automatically deducted from our original payment method.

  1. I am trying to get information on the New York Wall Street Journal Prime Rate (per month) from the year 2006 to 2012 to match the rate charged by our bank which relates the rate to the rates from Wall Street Journal; as they go up and down. Please help us with this information. Thank You, Ignacio Padilla

  2. For the fifth Saturday this year, I didn’t get my WSJ delivered this morning. I e-chatted before 10 am and was told they would try to have it delivered today. I said TRY isn’t good enough. As of 2 pm I still haven’t gotten my paper. If I were the person in charge of delivery, I would have bought a copy at a newsstand if necessary and driven it to my home.
Writing and editing the best newspaper in the country is meaningless if your customers can’t get it.
I looked at their masthead and found the name of their Circulation Director. She has a very uncommon name so I Googled her, found her, called her home phone number and left a message.
Let’s see if she responds, and let’s see if the deliverer gets fired. The WSJ is all about hard work and accountability: Since their deliverer doesn’t do his job, shouldn’t he be replaced.

    • We just moved to a new address two months ago and transferred our home delivery service. In two months our Saturday WSJ has been delivered just once. We must have the same delivery service. Not once in our former home address did we have a failed Saturday delivery.

  3. I am trying to schedule a vacation hold and cannot find any open portal. Every time I find a customer service center I am advised that the inq is being redirected. Please help.

  4. Ali qazi paid $186.99 subscription for one yea 2/26/15 please tell me my membership number. and also give me your address on which i can renew my membership.

  5. This is the third day of my subscription and did not receive the paper. A year ago I went through the same issues of not receiving the paper and spent more time tracking it down then I should have. Giving me a credit for the paper not being delivered is not the customer service that I look for, I expect the paper. there will be times when issues happen that it maybe late but in my of thinking as a business person if the delivery person does not deliver it then the area person should get in their vehicle and get them delivered. That is customer service, but it appears you take the easy way out and give a credit. Very poor customer service.

  6. Did not receive WSJ today – address: 5 Hathaway Lane, Highlands Ranch,CO
    80130.

    Vacation hold: Sept. 21 – Sept. 23.

    Thank you.

  7. No Journal today AGAIN!!! Horrible home delivery service!

All we ask is that the WSJ:
    1. shows up on the days we paid for
    2. Arrives before 7 am

Often we get the WSJ after 8
Sometimes we get no WSJ at all
Sometimes we get the Miami Herald (unwanted)

Please terminate your carrier provider before we terminate you!

  8. Sept 21, 2015

My morning paper was not delivered –

Please check the delivery system and begin tomorrow the 22nd of September

    Lakner

  9. your web site is impossible!!! All I want to do is report a delivery problem and it refuses to accept my pass word I have used for years. I ask for a change and nothing happens. You guys are sharper than this–right???

  10. What a relief!!! I was not kept on hold for more than a minute!!! And the customer service person gave me a fast answer to my questions.
    Thanks.

  11. The last two weeks, I’ve been unable to find Jason Riley’s columns in the paper. As always, I see the beginnings of the first paragraph on my computer the night before, but I can’t it in its entirety in the paper the next morning.

    Please advise.

    Frederic Wile

  12. I had stopped the delivery of the WSJ and Barrons while on vacation and asked for it to restart on October 2, 2015. Delivery has not yet started and it is now October 9th.

    Please look into my delivery.

  13. Get tired of calling about late paper or no paper. Today, 10/22/15 was told at 8:15 we would get a re delivery. NEVER GOT.

  14. Many mailings to my mailing address started to feel threatened by him please remove me from the mailing list 2422

  15. I LIVE IN A SENIOR COMMUNITY (800 SENIORS ON THIS 100 ACRE CAMPUS/
WE HAVE THE WALL STREET JOURNAL IN OUR THREE LIBRARIES FOR RESIDENTS TO READ. THE PRINT IN THIS WESTERN U.S. EDITION HAS BEEN VERY SMALL (WHEN COMPARED TO THE NEW YORK TIMES), AND THE PRINT IS NOT CLEAR. OUR ARIZONA STAR PRINT IS MUCH BOLDER.
I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE TRUE FOR THE PAST WEEK.

  16. Tried to call your 800# using our US line from Germany, but says we will have to pay for the call, so am contacting you by email instead.

Please cancel our subscription. You supposedly started our service on Oct. 24, but we have never received a single copy. It was charged on my VISA bill. Please contact me by email to confirm cancellation and the reversal of the $32.99 charge entered Oct. 24. Thank you. Judith McMurtry

  17. Called Chase to dispute this charge and their records show you have charged me for three months (Sept. Oct, Nov.), so all 3 months’ charges of $32.99/month for a total of $98.97 need to be reversed and the subscription cancelled.

Thank you for your help in correcting this.

  18. THIS IS THE THIRD OR FOURTH DAY THE PAPER WAS NOT DELIVERED. I HAVE CALLED AND REQUESTED THE PAPER BE TOSSED OVER THE FENCE BUT TO NO AVAIL. I LOVE THE PAPER AND DO FIND MANY INTERESTING ARTICLES, SO PLEASE HAVE THE DRIVER TOSS THE PAPER OVER THE FENSE. THANK YOU SO MUCH

  19. You folks have the most antiquated , user unfriendly ,telephone service out there .
I have a simple request-restart my delivery after a vacation hold- moving from Dec 30th to dec 28th.
You cannot process this request ” outside of stupid 90 day, makes no sense, phone message that you cannot process this request.
Two other news paper restart requests went without a hitch (maybe 60 seconds).
Not the first time this has happened to me.

  20. The absolute worst newspaper delivery I have ever seen. Last year my son gave me a one year subscription to the WSJ. I got one paper finally delivered and continued to have try to get delivery. I finally gave up after receiving my one issue.

This year my son gave me another WSJ subscription. Guess what happened today? Surprise, surprise no paper. I had called several days ago and was told that delivery would commence on January 2nd. The lack of delivery was what I expected and the WSJ service was what I expected.

I get the NYT and Albuquerque Journal with no problems.

  21. Was there delivery service today, 1/2/16? I did not receive a paper. The delivery service this past year has not been great — probably 4-5 papers missed during the year.

  22. Why is so difficult to resume WSJ carrier delivery. I live in NYC and in my building alone there are probably 25+ individuals who receive the WSJ by CARRIER.

I had the WSJ switched to Florida for about two weeks and provided a resumption date back to my NYC address and specifically requested CARRIER delivery (which is available and has been for over two decades). Every time I come back the WSJ is not delivered by CARRIER and I have to place dozens of calls to customer service (which I believe is overseas and not US based). It takes over a week to potentially resume service. I am still waiting for CARRIER service which was to begin over a week ago.

This is terrible service and I am probably going to cancel my subscription as I am tired of calling. This should be an easy computer fix for the WSJ, but apparently your overseas customer service cannot get this done.

  23. My WSJ issue did’t come today & I reported it by phone. This is the second time in a few weeks that my paper did not arrive. My question is if it’s a weather issue I understand, but if my service changed delivery people then it’s a problem.. I receive delivery of both the Chicago Tribune and WSJ from the same from the same service and haven’t missed delivery of the Tribune.

  24. You are still sending me the daily WSJ after two requests to cancel. I have informed my bank(BBT) not to process any payment request you make.

    Dennis R. Kuhn

  25. Arvada West High School in Arvada, Colorado (11595 Allendale dr, Arvada, 80004) has been receiving copies of the Wall Street Journal, daily, for a few months and we have requested to have delivery stopped. Yet, they continue to arrive every day. We cannot use this many. Respectfully, please discontinue delivery.

  26. I contacted Live Chat for Introductory price and she told me regular price and Didn’t answer my second question. I was basically ignored or hung up on!

  27. Delivery service is absolutely the worst!! Haven’t received my paper in 3 weeks despite calling every day. What is the problem? The paper is excellent but delivery service is appalling. What do I have to do to get my paper delivered?????!!!!!! My address is 240 Woodward Avenue, Staten Island, NY I have asked to speak to a supervisor but no one is ever available and I don’t ever get a call back.

  28. I returned from a Hawaiian vacation and my WSJ resumed perfectly on January 7, 2016. Then for a mysterious reason, it stopped around February 1st. But then it resumed two days ago… Whoever’s delivering was probably sick. Anyway, that’s the update. I think I’ll pass on renewing for $8.18 per week. Thank you!

  29. I COULDN’T FIND YOUR WEB SITE FOR HOME DELIVERY VACATION STOP AND RESUME. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO NAVIGATE THERE AMONGST THE PROLIFERATION OF WEB PAGES. IF IS IT EASIER, I WISH TO STOP THE PAPER ON WEDNESDAY AUGUST 31, 2016 AND RESUME ON MONDAY SEPTEMBER 19, 2016. PLEASE SEND ME A CONFIRMING E-MAIL. THANK YOU.

    • I have been a WSJ subscriber for 50 years. I had the worst customer service I have ever had on 5/26/16 at 3PM CT. I called to get my paper started at my summer address and got some who called herself Lorraine in the Philipines. WORST ENGLISH I HAVE EVER HEARD. SHE SHOULD NOT BE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. I kept having to ask her to repeat and repeat. She then got the address wrong and I had to correct her. She told me my paper would arrive on Saturday, but it did not arrive. When I called on Tues the woman told me she never put in the change.

Please respond as to how you are going to correct the situation.

  30. I just cancelled my automatic subscription renewal. The delivery person comes so late every morning that i am long gone for work. The more I complained the latter the delivery came to my house. The customer service representatives assured me this would get forwarded to the Delivery team and it would be resolved. After 6 plus frustrating weeks and no change. I now get the NY Times.

  31. I would like to file a complaint about the constant e-mails I am receiving even after I have Unsubscribed each time I receive the e-mails. I they continue I will a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General Office.

  32. I would like to file a complaint about there constant e-mails I am receiving from the Wall Street Journal, I am not interested and I would like the e-mails to stop. I keep receiving them even after I unsubscribe. The continue to send me these e-mails every day. If they do not stop I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the state Attorney General Office.

  33. Continuing delivery problems even after speaking with CS on several occasions. Does anyone care. Will have to rethink the Journal as my morning paper.

  34. I receive the saturday edition of the WSJ — and have for several years and I have never paid for a subscription,. I have tried to stop it many times and sometimes it stops for a time, but always starts again,. I don’t know who pays for my subscription, but the WSJ says I don’t exist!!!!! (in their records).

  35. I started a digital subscription for around $12.99 a month, but had a hard time cancelling it online. I finally called after five months and I was being charge around $28.99 after 3 months at the lower rate. I can’t remember seeing anything about the upcharge when I signed up. I pay only around 7.99 a month for the nytimes and even less for the Washington post and read them more often. Come on WSJ! Get competitively priced! I guess I will have to do without a decent conservative news source.

  36. Do not like to complain, but delivery is much less than satisfactory.
My paper never arrives before 7 local time and more often gets here after 8.
On two occasions a local area paper, the Tuscaloosa Times, was left in lieu of the WSJ.

  37. NO WSJ deliveries this week. What’s up? Monday was a holiday, okay, but what now? This is frustrating to say the least!

  38. Dear Sir, My Daughter of Boston Ma has been paying for my 6 day subscription for a number of years. Recently I have had a new delivery person and have missed a delivery on some Saturdays. Please find out why this is happening? My daughtes name is Debbie Johnston of Winchester Ma.

  39. I have been trying to report to you that I will be on vacation and need to stop delivery of the WSJ.
I went to “vacation stop” and got a page about Hilton Hotels!
This function used to be easy – now its hiding somewhere!

  40. This comment is long overdue and will be insufficient but I am obligated to offer publicly, my great appreciation for Thom San Filippo at the WSJ.
I signed on to the WSJ through Barrons a few years ago and after about a year, cancelled my subscription. However, I discovered sometime later that despite my cancellation, I was still being charged from automatic withdrawal. After being met with what I can only describe as extreme incompetence and rudeness at Barrons, I wrote to Thom San Filippo, in charge of customer service, explaining what happened and expecting to be met with more belligerence. But that was not the case at all. Mr San Filippo not only responded quickly and with concern, but also refunded all the money. After saying that I would not subscribe to the WSJ again, I have resumed my subscription primarily to support a worthy paper and the integrity with which it treats its customers.
    Thank you Mr San Filippo

  41. t this time I am having a very poor experience with the Wall Street Journal or at least its advertisers. In the last three weeks I have received no less than 30 spam advertisements to purchase your paper. I not only do not appreciate this intrusion on my privacy, I fail to understand why it continues even though I unsubscribe from every advertisement in my spam file. LEAVE ME ALONE

  42. WSJ not received today, 19 Sept. Called the customer service number and got a recorded speech selling a health alert followed by another sales pitch for something free that required payment. All I want is regular delivery of my paper.

  43. 10/24/17
THE DELIVERY SERVICE HAS CHANGED FROM “VERY GOOD” TO “VERY POOR” IN THE LAST MONTH OR SO AND IT SEEMS THAT THERE MUST BE A NEW DELIVERY SERVICE PERSON.
    PROBLEMS:
    1. IN THE LAST MONTH, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PAPER 4 TIMES INCLUDING TODAY. PLEASE HAVE TODAY’S PAPER PROMPTLY DELIVERED.
    2. WHEN DELIVERED, SOMETIMES THE PAPER IS TOSSED ON THE LAWN AND I GET A WET PAPER DUE TO THE SPRINKLERS.
    3. THE PAPER SHOULD BE LEFT ON THE “EAST DRIVEWAY”.
    4. I HAVE BEEN WITH THE WSJ FOR MANY YEARS AND HOPE TO CONTINUE FOR MANY MORE SO PLEASE CORRECT THESE DELIVERY PROBLEMS.

  44. I have a digital subscription which I normally access through my IPad. Due to poor wireless internet connection from AT&T I have difficulty reading the issues. I have accessed My WSJ through my hard-wired lap top. When I attempt to download articles I’m asked to subscribe. As a subscriber what action do I need to take?

  45. I put a hold on our delivery from Oct 22 to Oct 31 and haven’t received a paper since returning. It’s Nov 6. So could you connect w the carrier and resume…and extend my subscription as per your policy for the time I paid but received no paper. And confirm in writing. Thank you.

    Bob DeVita

  46. I have a digital subscription to the Journal for which I pay $16+/mo. I find it nearly useless because it only allows me to read the capsule summary of each story. I am most interested in your coverage of the news and thought this subscription would be a god option for me. Please let me know how I can get more of each story.

  47. I
am having delivery issues. No paper received om Nov 17 ,Nov 22 ,Nov 23. I have reported 2 of the above dates but have NOT heard anything from WSJ.Please communicate !!!

  48. Customer service is useless. Rep hard to understand and absolutely no help. Requesting US manager to solve problem. Company is Weidmuller and subscription for Wall Street Journal was ordered 1/31/2018 but not one issue was received so far. Called customer service on 2/9 and again today 2/13.

  49. Not pleased at all..
Did not receive paper AGAIN today,2/24/18, tried to report missed delivery on line and could not do so… so called…. got message that I had to speak to representative. She then told me subscription had ended today..I told her I had AUTOMATIC renewal for some time and she looked up account and then said it would be renewed today and I would receive copy of paper….This entire experience is just not acceptable…Strongly suggest Dow Jones utilize a USA based Customer Service Department!!! Now we will reconsider subscribing to publication as well as that of sister paper, NY “Post” BAD !!!

Here I am, again, with the complaint – paper delivered during rain in single thin sleeve. It ruptures when tossed on concrete drive and $4 WSJ is ruined by wicking water.

How about WSJ developing a unique, tough, sealable sleeve for the product? I’d much prefer to NOT write this kind of email.

    Regards,

  55. I didn’t get Saturday’s paper nor today’s delivered.

    Thank you

  56. I have been a subscriber of the print and or digital WWJ issues for probably 40 years,. Now I only have/had a digital subscription. I received my latest prepaid quarterly charge of approximately $45 on August 5th (2 days ago). On August 7th, I decided that I could no longer the handle all the data flying from everyone (I am in my mid 70s). I called to cancel this digital subscription as well as other non WJS subscription. I was told that I could only cancel the “auto renewal” feature. – Even though we were only into the currently quarter by 2 days, I COULD NOT/WOULD NOT RECEIVED A CREDIT FOR THE 90DAYS PREPAYMENT QUARTER ENDED NOV 5TH. That is the RULE. OK, Let’s talk about what makes sense. You are the WSJ, not David Pecker and the National Inquirer. I would appreciate the credit for this quarter and suggest you rethink your policy. Thank you.

  57. No Wall Street Journal delivery today. When I called to comlain I was twice transferred to people in the Philippines who said that I would get a credit. I do not want a credit I want the paper, i need today’s paper for business reasons.

  58. Your process for canceling digital subscriptions is confusing.

  61. Attn; Everyone at The Wall Street Journal
As you may know, our country has sees approx. 73,000 wildland fires in one year costing the country approx. 7,000,000 acres of federal, tribal, state, private, land. We also lose some 2,600 in those fires. We can’t stop the fires but now we can control and use them better then we have. We have the technology and the materials to design and build vehicles that can help us. I have designed a vtol that will address all of those concerns. Imagine an air Bourne firefighting team hovering above the houses pumping fire fighting ordnance onto an oncoming forest fire and stopping it, sparing entire communities. Or being caught on the 50th floor when the 20th is on fire. One of these types of vehicles can safely sit outside that bldg., breach the wall, extend a ramp, bring the rescued onboard, land, and do it again. Tomorrows land management and firefighting must be done from the air. Please understand that I am very serious about saving lives. This is not a joke or a scam. Nor does it involve space age exotic materials and an outrageous cost. This is not at all farfetched, it is very much within our reach. Please help me do this. If you cannot help please direct to someone who can. Thank you for your time and God Bless. Contact me at Ph. 610-894-4581 ptarboro@ptd.net

  62. I knew i could rely on the incompetence of the idiot who is delivering the WSJ; the most important day for editorial comment concerning the Senate hearing and I don’t get a paper. The world is going to hell and the Democrats are speeding up the process with their “bogus hatchet job”!!!!!

  63. I HATE the way I ALWAYS have problems logging in and using passwords.I am so sick of this after a couple of weeks that I want my subscription canceled!!!I don’t care if it’s FREE. You need to get your technical act together.
