    • purchased thompson center Accessory kit at sportsmans warehouse 6-10-15 went shooting 6-11-15 came home had used jag to clean barrel of 50 cal. muzzelloader cleaned several times then attached wire brush to ram rod and put it down barrel tried to remove and only the screw end came out the brush is still in barrel only way to remove is to remove breech plug and pull out. Called sportsmans warehouse they said that they would issue refund for defective items but that wont fix my gun. They said call T/C I did they won’t pay to have my gun fixed so I told them I would see them in small claims court. At 65.00 an hour to pull the breech plug I figure their lawyers will charge more than a new gun.

I have called a number of times today to check on an incomplete order sent with no explanation. I have now been on hold for over 30 min. I have needed to contact S&W on a number of occasions and though C. S. has always been helpful, the results of the repairs and or orders has been more than disappointing. I would appreciate a contact from S&W to be able to determine if I should continue purchasing your product.

  3. I just would like to say thank you for the excellent way that you took care of my problem recently. My SD 9 mm handgun had a real bad split in the polymer and could not be repaired. You told me that you did not make the SD 9 any more so you up graded me to the M&P 9mm. I was very surprised that you would do that and very impressed at the same time. Thank you so much for taking care of me. I love my knew handgun. I have been telling all my friends what you did and they were amazed.I will always by my guns from Smith and Wesson and a lot of my friends say they will too.

  6. i have recently bought a SDve .40. I really love how this gun shoots good all around for the price. the only complaint i have is with a full magazine, it causes rattling noises which are pretty loud. noise i wouldnt want to make protecting myself against man or animal. i heard that smith and wesson would send out new magazines being that they are aware of the problem. i understand this gun is no longer in production so the problem can no longer be prvented. other than that i really love the product.

  7. I purchased a body guard 14 monts ago with lazzer had to send back to factory becouse lazzer stoped working. waited 5 weeks for repair. got it back and used it 1 time now it will not work again.whats up with this gun. ? now what do i do? thanka…

  8. I have a newS&W 22 Compact. Sme brands of Ammo work fine and some will jam and not reload. Is this a common problem. I do love the way the pistol handles great and easy to hit target.

  9. I have been looking through your entire site and have not found the information I need. I recently received a S&W M&P 15 sport. I need the specifications for the weapon! I spent many years in our military and cannot stand the A2 arch for a front sight.I want to replace it with a separate gas block and most likely change the plastic front barrel vent/handguard. Later possibly other parts to improve my rifle. I need a booklet with all measurements and diameters. Please send it to my email thank you.

  13. Spouse purchased a new “in the box” S&W 38 (1.875 barrel length) model # 642-2. It was a piece of junk. Returned it the same day she bought it. The so called “lock” on the thing locked after every five (5) rounds. Could not get it to work. After 40 years of supporting S&W and respecting their weapons – I will never buy another one and urge others to go with Glock, Walther, or Sig Sauer. America not longer produces anything of quality.

  14. Sirs,
I recently purchased a 696 and love the size and feel of the gun. However, I’m disappointed that it only comes with a 3″ barrel. Can it be fitted with a 4″ or other length of barrel?
It would seem that other barrels would fit with some adjustments.
Are there any custom barrel makers for Smith and Wesson revolvers?
    Thank you
    Alan

  15. After three months and a lot of wasted time, I still do not have 3 magazines promised as a rebate for my purchase of a S&W M&P. I am familiar with the things some companies do to add to their bottom line while not honoring their own rebates. A quick sale and ripoff will almost always result in long term harm to the company’s good name and reputation. Too bad they allow bad executives to infiltrate the organization and steal from it, it’s distributors and it’s customers. Good long term companies get bad long term reputations for engaging in unscrupulous activities of this sort.
It shouldn’t have taken even one month to honor the rebate, certainly not two, or as is the case, going on three months with no communication.

  16. bought a smith & Wesson Shield. what a mistake. it has less than 300 rounds and already whatever holds the recoil spring on the guide rod has popped off. the last time I went to clean the gun the spring flew off and was bent. called customer service and they said they would send me a new one.waited over a week and nothing so I called and they had no record of what I was talking about. the guy said between me and you this is an issue on this gun and they need to take another look at its engineering. he said all gun manufacturers guns have issues. every gun has an issue. really? because I own several ruger pistols with absolutely no issues and if I need a part I get it in 3 days. apparently this guide rod assembly is on back order everywhere because no one has one that works. will never buy another smith & Wesson gun again. I have a brand new gun that is sitting in the safe in pieces and is useless that is supposed to be my wifes carry gun. stick with ruger. they are more reliable. I have ruger p95 with 10,000 rounds and still going strong.

  17. my new m&p shield shoots great but the guiderod assembly was of poor design and the customer service guy even said so. whatever holds the spring on the guiderod pops off after about 200 rounds . its happened twice. also when you go to field strip the gun the takedown lever hits the main spring causing it to bend . even when you perfectly align it it rubs. so now I am waiting on a probably defective guiderod assembly in the mail. my brand new firearm is not functional. I guess everyone that owns a shield is needing a guiderod replacement otherwise why would this part be on backorder all the time. the tech at s&w customer service said it is a known issue with this gun and that all guns have some type of issue. maybe they do but at least other companies fix the problem instead of keep sending you defective parts. none of my ruger pistols have any issues. had them for years. when and if the spring comes in I will be trading this piece of junk.

  18. Its damn near impossible to contact smith & wesson’s service / The brass insert that holds the screw securing the Insight laser assy in my Bodyguard 380 handgun has pulled out of the gun frame . needs service. Can the insight Laser assy be replaced with a crimson trace unit? I have had nothing but trouble from the laser assembly. I hate that thing. Would rather have night vision sights. Or a green laser. ButS&W would’nt do that . How can you claim to be the best?

  19. I sent e-mail 5 days ago about a cracked stock on my 50 cak TC Hawkens, I received a ticket number LTK11177011993087X.

  21. TYPING INTO THE BOX BELOW WILL NOT CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

THIS IS JUST A COMMENT BOX FOR THIS WEBSITE,

THIS WEBSITE IS NOT RELATED TO SMITH & WESSON IN ANY WAY!!!

  22. BAD SERVICE
I JUST RECEIVED MY SHIELD 45 SN HKE6474 AFTER NEARLY 3 WKS. IT WAS SENT IN TO REPLACE OR REPAIR THE FRONT NITE SIGHT WHICH HAD NO GLOW.

IT STILL HAS NO GLOW AND IT LOOKS LIKE NOTHING AT ALL WAS DONE.

REALLY!! ARE YOU A UNION SHOP?? I EXPECTED BETTER.

REPUTATION, BOTH GOOD AND BAD, IS A BIG THING IN THE FIREARMS INDUSTRY. THIS WON’T HELP YOURS.

  23. My customer service experience was TERRIBLE. Obviously my initial email wasn’t even read, as the response did NOT answer my questions!

    My original email—
I submitted my rebate for the S&W M&P summer rebate on 9/7 and received the “Thank you your Summer Savings Promotion” has been received page. I called today about the rebate and followed the directions to check the website if it has been more than 3-4 weeks since submission. Well it has been 5 weeks, and there is no record of my rebate! When can I expect this to show up on the website, as well as when will I receive the items from this rebate?

The response I received is—Dear Patricia,
The rebate has an 10-12 week turnaround time as stated on the rebate card.
Use the link below to check the status of the rebate.

Please tell me how this addresses my issue of submitting this rebate FIVE WEEKS AGO, and it hadn’t shown up on the website? I resubmitted today, and SURPRISE, it is already showing up tonight! Will I be waiting 10 to 12 WEEKS FROM TODAY, or from my original submission date of 9/7/17?? As FIVE WEEKS have already passed.
