Our Experience

We called RCN customer service as a new customer interested in purchasing RCN. The customer service representative asked for out zip code, but we told him we only had a street address. He asked the street address and located the property. He immediately started selling huge bundles with tons of extras and amenities. We said we only wanted basic cable and nothing more. The only option available was a $65 a month television plan with more than 200 channels. We said we wanted something smaller with just local stations and the agent told us this was the smallest package.

  1. I just called RCN. My service on my living room TV went out. There are no outages in the area. I have been a customer since December of 2015. I have had nothing but problems on this account. It feels like I am forever calling RCN customer service and having to have the modem turned off and on and being told there is no problem. I have 3 TV’s in 3 separate rooms. I have computers in 2 different rooms. I am handicapped, and am constantly being told to check the TV in another room. If you have decent technical equipment, you should know all the Serial Numbers for all of my equipment. I should not have to constantly hunt those numbers for you. I( have every intention of cancelling RCN, as the last customer service person was totally inadequate and stupid, and should be fired. I will write your CEO.

  2. I enrolled in the RCN.com/ThankYou. After a time I received an e-mail from RCN that I was a winner, I was able to select a $1,000.00 swipe card from WalMart. To claim the card I had to answer 3 simple questions which I did. Since that time I have received over 50 emails for surveys. Offering me money and prizes to fill out more, they are from Surveys and Quizzes. Does RCN really have a contest ? Did I win? Is this a scam? Do I need to contact the Consumer protection agency, Better Business, Consumer reports?
