Our Experience

When we contacted the customer service department at Midas, we encountered the typical automated system. The system provided several options pertaining to customer service, except the general customer service department. In order to connect to the customer service department, you will need to press 0 or wait through the options. After selecting 0, we waited for for approximately 4 minutes before the agent answered our call. Considering the services provided by Midas deal with a major purchase, we asked several questions relating to warranty of service and how to report damages. The agent explained the process of reporting damages and discussed the warranty.

We are glad to have spoken to the Midas customer service team. They were thorough with explanations and extremely knowledgeable about the services. This was a customer service win for us. When you contacted the customer service department, what was the outcome? We would love to hear your story. Comment below with your experience.

  1. Had some work done replaced whole rear break system cost 700$ my complaint is I have flat all blots turned fairly easy and 1 did not I feel do to the lug nut was put on weigh to tight I called the Columbia heightes ,Mn store.Instead of him trying to offer help for little or no cost or at least half the cost of the tow, instead I felt like I was being robbed without a gun. check your records I am a loyal costumer. And won’t be spending my money with a Midas store ever aging nor will I recommend anyone to Midas for auto repair.

  2. I like how they always double-check “is this a good number to call you at?”

Yes, yes it is. But that doesn’t matter because YOU NEVER CALL ME WHEN THE CAR IS READY. I have to call you, or simply show up to find out if the car is ready.

The last time (and I mean chronologically as well as historically – I’m not going back) I took a car to Midas I paid my bill, went to start the car, and lo and behold the battery was dead. Not weak. Not run down. DEAD. Cleared the ECM, wiped the memory on the stereo… dead as disco, dead.

Less than happily, I inform them that they left the lights on (that was what happened) and the car was dead. “Oh, well we can jump start it.” Awesome. See my plan was to drive the 4 blocks home and just park it. Not anymore, no, now I’ve got to drive it around for awhile and recharge the battery enough that it’ll start the NEXT time I want to drive the car. Thanks.

Oh, and no apology. None. Lots of “avoiding my gaze” and skulking about while they hooked up first a spare battery and when that (predictably) didn’t work they used a truck to jump start the car. Never looked me in the eye, never apologized.

I got that stupid form email they like to send out, replied to that with how unhappy I was. The manager’s response? Wouldn’t I like to know, he hasn’t bothered to reply.

Hey Midas. Rethink your policy of making it nearly impossible to escalate complaints. Some of your customers are undoubtedly people who work in media manipulation. Not sayin’ that’s me, but if it were I’d be one of those people who’s jobs it is to literally make or break a company’s online reputation.

Amazing how far a little common courtesy and customer service goes.

    • So ticked off I forgot to mention the best part.

The whole reason I brought the car in, a squealing belt, that’s not even fixed.

What kind of an idiot can’t fix a squealing belt? (I’d do it myself but we’re not suppose to work on cars in the parking lot of my building.)

Apparently the same kind of idiot that gets out of a car and thinks to himself, “why is it making that annoying sound as if I’d left the lights on? Oh well, I’m sure it’s nothing bad.”

  3. My wifes 05 Scion had a faulty wheel bearing. We took the vehicle to Scion and was told that it was almost 600.00 to repair. We decided to see if there was a better option as dealerships tend to be very expensive. After setting up an appointment with Midas in Maineville, Ohio I was contacted and told that BOTH front wheel bearings are bad. After some thought I figured that It was probably good to do both bearings anyways even if Toyota said only 1 was bad. I gave authorization for Midas to replace both bearings which was over 700.00!
Upon picking up the vehicle there was a terrible noise immediately. upon returning to Midas It was found that the “technician” mangled both brake backing plates when doing the work. He bent them back somewhat into shape with a screwdriver. The vehicle had all sorts of scraping noises ever since. Fast forward to 13,000 miles later ( 14 months later ). My wife tells me again that there is a noise. I drive the vehicle and immediately know again its a faulty bearing. I call Midas and set up an appointment. Whent he vehicle is taken back they refuse to warranty the work and found that BOTH bearings have again failed. I was told that she needs brakes too and its possible that her brakes caused her bearings to fail which is rediculous. I argued that bearings should last longer than 13,000 miles unless they were either incorrectly installed or they used very cheap parts; and that on no planet can worn brakes cause a wheel bearing to fail. After the manager contacted the district manager he agreed to split the cost with me. I reluctantly agreed and was thankful that they atleast understood my concerns. After a full day of the car sitting there I called and inquired about its status and spoke with a very unprofessional “technician”. He stated ” dude, Ill be honest. I haven’t had a chance to even look at it.”
unacceptable. I made an appointment and in the scope of satisfying an unhappy customer the work should have been completed in a timely manner. I instucted them that I was going to come get the vehicle.
The next day I took the vehicle to Toyota and had them replace BOTH wheel bearings and was told that my backing plates were so mangled that they needed replaced and could not be bent back to correct form. Also that my brakes did not need replaced but the rotors were slightly warped and just needed turned. I authorized the work and gett he vehile back next day and now it drives and sounds like it should.
I am very unhappy with every aspect of Midas. My experience was unprofessional, the work was poor and the parts that were used were cheap. The vehicle was damaged and It seemed as if the location did not care. I feel that Midas has ripped me off and feel that I was lied to and treated like a child. I feel that the “technicians” are untrained and dont care. I also feel that the “manager” is unprofessional and also does not really care about customers. I will never return to Midas and will tell everyone I know to avoid the place at all costs.

  4. I have made multiple attempts over the last 2 months to contact someone in the corporate office after “repairs” made by my local Midas led to my car needing an additional $1200 in work (after the initial $1300 of repairs needed to be made so they could see what the real problem was, apparently). They made unauthorized repairs, didn’t fix any of the issues, and somehow detached my bumper. Now my car is a lawn ornament that I’m making payments on, and I can’t get a response from Midas, besides for “sometimes you have to fix things to find the real problem”. Shameful business practices. I was a loyal customer; not now.

  5. I’ve made an appt early as they open, so waiting period isn’t long, I wrote it down in my calendar for my own reminder. I show up, first one there, and he tells me my appt isnt until the next day. Of course I’m upset and aggravated I gotta wait for others to have their car service until he can squeeze me in. That’s ridiculous if they tell me one day and the system shows another day, that’s not my mistake and they should of tookin that into consideration.

  6. My car was overheating so i took it to a midas shop close to my job b/c thats the side of town i was on. At that midas they did a block test and told me i needed a radiator and that was close to $400. A week later when i got the money i took my car to the midas closer to my house. I gave the manager my estimate paper i received from the other midas location and told him i wanted that work done. (new radiator) long story short. I ended up paying over $1000 for my cars overheating problem and my car still overheats!. So i was told i need a new engine thats $400040004000

  7. please cancel taking money from my account I have already e/mailed you aboutthis before you have took 3lots of money from my account this month pleaseconfirm this cancellation by e/mail

  8. Last week I lodged a complaint by phone. I talked to your operator who took down all my info. and assured me someone would get in touch. As at this time, I’ve heard from no one.
My complaint was that when I brought my car to your station 947 Washington St in February. One of the things I wanted, was to rotate the tires & repair a slow leak in one of my tires. Wayne, the mgr. said there was nothing wrong with the leak. The tire still leaks. Nothing was done. Also I received an appointment card stating that I have not had service since Dec. 17, 2013,which is incorrect since I was in your shop in February. I have to put in air weekly. Would like something done.

  9. Midas will deliberately brake your brake components and lug nuts . In hopes of you and your family crashing and dying while midas laughs at your funeral. They don’t have any costumer service skills and only hires liars and pos techs. I am starting an Orange County boycott and they will be put out of business . And I will be paying the CEO of the company a personal visit. Nobody try’s to kill me and my family and gets away with it, nobody……

  10. I have been dealing with Midas at 8816 N. Black Canyon in Phoenix, AZ. I have had least 3 problems with them and now I will not be going back. I had my oil changed and they stripted one of my lugnuts on a tire and discount tire made me buy 5 new ones at $57.00. When I went into Midas Ryan[the manager] wanted to know what he should do about it. He says it happens all the time. I am elderly and now very angry with Midas. I will not go back again.

  11. took my 2001 ford focus into midas in December 2013.it was leaking transmission fluid. they had told me it was a slave cylinder. it was repaired or so I thought… January 2014 I had noticed a transmission leak again. took it back to midas and they took responsibility and stated that they had replaced the right seal and oops ‘assumed’ the left would be okay. ( both need to be changed when repairing a slave cylinder. I had to pay for the seal but not the labor–they told me I HAD TO DO THIS. I had no choice. march 2014 transmission leaking again. went back to midas and they state now this leak is a secondary problem. filed a formal complaint with midas and was told by a manager that received the complaint that I needed to take it elsewhere and they would pay for it. sounds solved? NO WAY! I called the midas complaint department and as of today still waiting… I do not recommend. JUST AWFUL…

  12. My right rear brakes were making a noise, so I took, my car to Midas. They claimed that they looked at them and diagnosed the problem. They said I needed to replace my whole braking system for over $800.00. They also told me that they couldn’t let me take my car out of there, that is was too dangerous. They said it had gotten very hot. They said they would order parts and said they would call the next day when they had them. I rented a car, and did some checking with a friend who didn’t think it sounded credible. I called them in the morning and said I wanted to have it towed to get a second opinion, and he said that they had already taken it apart and that I couldn’t. He then put me on hold while they “put it back together”. He then said he would have to charge me his cost to return the parts he ordered plus the diagnostic fee, which were $103.06 and $26.97 respectively. He said they wouldn’t release my car to be towed unless I paid that amount, so I gave them my credit card information, and I will now try to block the transaction through my credit card company. I had the car towed to another place, who said that during a previous brake job they only replaced one instead of both brake pads. The worn one got lodged in the rotor, causing the noise. Midas couldn’t have taken it apart, or else the brake pad that was lodged in there would have fallen out. They were going to charge me $804.13 and instead I got it fixed for $264.46. To recap, they are trying to charge me a diagnostic fee w/o making a proper diagnoses, and were going to charge me for parts in the braking system that were not damaged. They also coerced me into giving them my credit information by telling me they could not release my car otherwise. I didn’t give them permission to work on it and I didn’t sign any of the paperwork. Needless to say, I won’t be taking my car back to Midas. I feel like they will take advantage of you, especially if you are a woman on your own.

  13. On June 3rd my husband and I were on our way to Gatlinburg, TN. from Illinois. We stopped for lunch and heard our brakes grinding. We stopped at the Midas at 4247 Hermitage in Lebanon Pike and Stephanie greeted us immediately! She told us that she had a full schedule that day, we asked about another Midas. She called Branch at the Charlotte Pike, Nashville store. He was short 2 guys that day but said come on in. We were very impressed with both Stephanie and Branch! They were very friendly and professional, Also gave us a lot of info. about Gatlinburg.

  14. Had front end work done, they test drove my truck without closing the hood! GUESS WHAT HAPPENED!! $1,000’s of dollars worth the damage and 3 months of being run around by corporate, and now they said PROVE IT! This company needs to have a class action law suit against it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. i took mycar to modas to hv a power steering hose put on..i had to leave my car over night something i dident want to do..when i picked up my car i noticed my car was sluggish smelling of oil..comlained to midas ..they asked me to bring the car back i did..they told me i needed motor mounts..a mont later i changed my oil..i noticed the boot was cut on my axel on the passenger side..that was the oil smell and the knocking i heard i immediatly complained to midas about my boot being cut.i told them i was going to contact the bbb they told me no need to do that bring the car in thell fix it..they dud just that..now my catlytic convertas leaking im loosing power..my car ran fine b for i took it to midas…never again never ever

  16. Midas in Billerica, MA is the same. The owners are idiots, they fight with each other scream, cussing in front of customers. Ridiculous. Now, lets get to the service end… they make sure that you need breaks because “I’m here to run a business.” Their car lift is malfunctioning, so expect to see that on the front page of the local news soon after killing someone. They laugh at OSHA. This place should at least be checked out. The mechanics work really hard, but are under the thumb of the manager of the shop and what he says, goes. They make no money on their oil changes, so you are in and out and if a mechanic sees a mechanical problem or safety CONCERN, enough to argue about with the manager, they are sent home (I assume to learn their place). The employees are terrified to complain, especially in this economic environment because the manager has no problem firing you if you disagree with this methods. To the owners; WOW, how are you still in business. Obviously OSHA is not paying attention, Midas Corporate is not paying attention and frankly, your customers are not paying attention. I didn’t need breaks, you just wanted my money. SO BEWARE, IS THE $20 OIL CHANGE REALLY WORTH IT???????????

  17. I don’t know what happen to this company.I’ve been a customer for several years and never had any problems, until the location closed in Garland on walnut.Every since than, nothing but problems. I’m going to get the local television station on this, its just that bad

  18. On 10-1-2014 I took a 2014 Chevy Silverado to Bill at the store in Kearney ne. Before this I spoke to him about doing the he exhaust on the truck and that I wanted it louder since stock is to quiet. He said no problem let him look into it and he called me back. When I took the truck to him he said it would be $800 after ordering what he needed.when I walked in I told that I really didn’t w a fit and said go and do it. When I came back for the reckless it was not what I wanted and he said he was done with the truck and walked off.

What a ass will never go backwant to spend that much on a work truck. He said that he was disappointed. I told him I would pay for the shipping . He thre

  19. Santa Clarita has two locations owned by the same franchise owner. This individual refuses to honor Midas’ lifetime guarantee on an axle purchased at a recently closed Midas store. After Midas calling customer service (several times)it is clear to me that the franchise owners can threaten you and refuse service with no consequence except for the negative posts published online. My requests for a district manager to call were ignored and requests for a reply via email to document my concerns were declined reaffirming my belief that Midas runs an advertising scam when they promote (lifetime warranties). Buyer beware Midas corporate has (ZERO) authority to help you.

  20. I paid 702.00 for car repairs and had to tow my car away from this shop. Your crew gave us an estimate of 642.00 to repair this car and then on the day of pickup wanted anther 350 dollars because they told us they put in a new ECM chip without calling or having this authorized. I have no idea what they put in my car. I told them I refused to pay for unauthorized service and they said I had to take the car as is. I am so mad and upset at this piss poor, unethical service. I am posting negative shots all over the web and I am going back Monday morning demanding my money back. You need to investigate this crew!!!!

  21. My Mazda had a huge oil leak (in garage)after NEVER having one drop of oil on floor. Went to Midas Stockton CA. Was given an estimate of $1400 (with oil change). Was told there was a “catastrophic” leak at back of engine and that all four oil seals there needed to be replaced. This included a timing belt and new water pump. We accepted the estimate, even though it was a lot of money for us at that time. We were called two days later and told to come pick up the car, and that “your oil leaks have been repaired”. Went about two miles to our house and parked the car in the garage. Next morning there was lots of oil dropped on top of the kitty litter we had put over the original spill. Took it back to Midas, waited an hour while they checked the engine, and was handed a new estimate for $750 for replacing the two oil seals at the front of the engine and needed a valve cover gasket set and a intake manifold set. I was furious. We had told Midas to “fix the oil leak(s) and we were told our car was ready to pick up as “the oil leak(s) were fixed”! It is amazing that the car had one massive oil leak, yet needed six new seals. Bill Brewer who owns the franchise admits they “never looked at the seals at front of engine because there was “oil over the place”. At that time he showed me the heavy drip falling
from the intake manifold seal. It was so bad and falling on the alternator, which Brewer said was bad for the alternator because of the temperature. I told Brewer I would not pay. He offered me a $100 discount. I said it was not enough. He lost his temper, started shaking all over, saying we were “unreasonable” and started using vulgar words. He threatened us by saying that I

  22. I had an appointment for a simple LOF, at the shop in Whitehall, Pa, for 11:00 on a Saturday. There was a man and another couple already there. It got to be 12:45,I asked when my car would be ready as it had already been almost 2 hours. The manager, Kevin, came out and said ‘it would be ready soon and that some things are out of their control, just like when he took his son to the Dr. and his appointment ran over’. Really? I told him I would have rather had him call & tell me to come in later than to sit there all that time. Then he wanted to quote plugs, etc. for my car. I told him I didn’t want anything more from him.

I then asked the one man that had been there when I got there. He said he had been there since 9:30 for a problem they had not repaired on a prior trip.

The other couple had been there since 10:00.

I will NEVER go to another Midas. There are so many other shops out there that can do the work I need done.

Kevin, the manager at this shop, is very arrogant and curt.

    Not impressed at all.

  23. More on the above Mazda: He threatened us by saying that “if the car was not in by Wednesday” he “would never work on our car again”. A really terrible man and a lousy business owner. I have already started telling everyone, including strangers, how terrible Midas and Brewer are and to never do business with them.
Turns out they have a TERRIBLE reputation. I have gone to the Bureau of Automotive Repairs, the BBB, call Kurtis (KCRA TV), etc., and plan on picketing their shop. I feel that they took advantage of older people (elder abuse), lied to us, cheated us, was incredibly rude and I will do everything in my power to embarrass them. A couple days of picketing them should help. And then to Small Claims Court. By the way, their Corporate Complaint Line is a huge joke. They have stock answers and it’s NEVER their fault. Noel was absurd! I asked for a supervisor. Was told one would call me. Not a word, of course! Because Mr. Brewer told us if we wanted the car fixed, with a $100 discount, we were told “have your car in here by Wednesday, or I WILL NEVER TOUGH IT AGAIN”!!!!!!! I want this taken care of and will not rest. Midas is the big guy. And I am an 80 year old who will not be had!!! I swear to go to my death bed telling everyone within sight not to use Midas……and I AM going to picket.

  24. I gave over $700 to #Midas on green river road here in Evansville In to fix my car and after 3 attempts they couldn’t. After the third attempt I just told him nevermind, just put my car back together and give me my money back.
they told me they wouldn’t give me a refund so I called 911 and I was told by the police officer that it was a civil matter and that I would have to take them to court and get my money back. and my car is STILL not fixed! How fair is that?

  25. I took my car to Everything Shelby Midas at 50021 Van Dyke Ave. Shelby Township, MI 48317. I had heard a small intermitted squealing noise in the rear brakes.
I was told I needed rear drums and shoes along with new front pads, rear wiper blade, auto Trans cooler lines and transaxle seals. I oked the service and left my car for repairs. They charged me 700.00 dollars.
A few days later my auto Trans lines were leaking (they never leaked before) I took it back and they said they fixed it. The next day my “new” back breaks had a horrible grinding noise. Again I took it back and they said they fixed them. The very next day the grinding noise was back so back again I went. This time when I went to pick it up the so called manager informed me that they did not charge me enough on the initial visit and they put brand new ceramic brake pads on and that I owned them 200.00 dollars. Let me say that never called to ask if I wanted ceramic brake pads. And to top it all off, besides the rudeness of the Manager, my rear brakes started squealing on my short drive home.
I feel as if I paid for nothing and I am worse off than I started with squealing rear brakes and leeks I never had before.
I will never go back there again and would advise everyone I meet to stay away as well.

  26. I am very unsatisfied with the service provided at the Orem Midas. The way I was treated was entirely unacceptable. Before having to drive across country for a funeral, I brought my car in to Midas to get an estimate to fix and/or replace the brakes. They were unable to help me for a few hours, which is completely understandable. A few hours after dropping my car off (approx 4:00pm) I got a call with an outrageous estimate of about 425$-450$. I informed the gentleman that called me that I would have to call my boyfriend to approve the cost and I would call him back. He proceeded to remind me that they closed at 5:30 and I informed him I would have an answer before then. After calling another shop and informing the employees there what I needed, they quoted me about 225$-250$. Instead of calling Midas back, I came to pick up my car at about 5:00pm, where the employee working the desk (before I even was able to say anything to him) informed me I arrived too late and my car was unable to be returned because I hadn’t called him. It was well before closing time and I needed my car back, but he informed me that my car was in pieces and he had already sent everyone home for the night, before the official closing time and before the time he had reminded me of earlier. He continued to tell me over and over again that this was all because I hadn’t called him, and essentially blaming me for the fact that he refused to give me my car back. After arguing for 30 minutes, and the employee working the desk literally yelling at me, two more employees just appeared from the back of the garage and put my car back together in under 5 minutes. The employees in the garage were clearly saying rude things about me and the man who presented my car back to me, was very rude and basically told me just to get out of there. This location had absolutely awful customer service. Thank goodness another garage stayed open late to replace my brakes for an appropriate price. The Orem Midas employees could learn a thing or two from them about how to treat paying customers!

  27. I went in to get a simple oil change at the wortington Midas. When I came back to pick up my truck and pulled off I noticed my truck leaking brake fluid. I went back in to talk to the manager about this problem, the manager insisted that this “was not his prob”. Might I add that my truck was not in any shape or form leaking brake fluid and that he had a very rude and smart allic attitude. I’m a very honest man and always have been, but for him to try and scream at me that this was not his fault , after I traced the drops of brake fluid back to his lift … That was what I call the worst Customer service I have ever had!. I was a loyal and trusted customer of 15 years until this day. Me or my family, friends, are no longer customers at Midas. I hope the 100$ that he charged me for the brake line his “tech” fixed was worth it!! Don’t go to Midas!!!

  28. Spent 700.00 at Springfield Oh location. Problem not fixed. Went back in was told need another 150.00 worth of work or may need to get a new power train module. Was told the 1st time problem would be fixed. Car is worse. Will not go back.I feel scammed. It has not even been a month now I have new problems that did not show up the first time,I dont think so. I would not trust these guys to fill the fluids in my car anymore.Dont go there. Take your car and money somewhere else.

  29. I would like to thank the crew at the Midas Shop at 341 Young St.,Barrie,On. L4N 4C9 For the over the top service they have provided me over the last month !! My 2008 Chevy Uplander was Giving me issue with the front end and general ride !
They gave me an accurate annalists and reasonable quote for the work and made all attempts to bring these repairs in at a lower cost, which they did. They qouted a time to complete the work and hit it with time to spare !
This shop is my place to go for repairs and courtesy !
They deserve to know their efforts are appreciated by the people they help !!!!

  30. My service experience in the Wallingford, CT location has been above and beyond my expectations. The service advisors have always been extremely courteous and helpful, especially Mark. I feel very comfortable having my vehicle serviced here and will continue recommending this service center to all my friends and family.

  31. worst place to ever have a repair charged a 105 dollars said they checked cat converter and had to cut bolts off. wanted 700 bucks to fix.took to another mechanic they said midas didn’t even touch cat converter. charged me 240 bucks

  32. My wife took her 2001 Mazda Miata in for a oil change and inspection 07/06/15 at your Katy store on Mason Katy Tx. for above services. It took these people 4 hrs. to service her car. One because your mechanic was a DRAG ASS, and he had to take off for lunch. Your store manager was so unknowing of what was going on . He was useless to help my wife .By the way there was only one other customer in the store all during this time, then the mechanic told my wife car failed inspection, due to the fact their was with her emission . At which time he wanted to charge her a $100.00 a hr. to repair the supposed problem. THIS IS BULL!! She went to another store and had the inspection done in 15 mi.I can guarantee you, we will tell anyone who is looking for proper, professional service to stay the hell away from your poorly run business’s. For all the aggravation, and smart ass attitude she should get her inspection fee back.

    Sincerely,

    Frank J. FRuia

  33. I have been with Midas in Harvey,La for twenty years servicing two vihecles. The best mechanic in your company is NORMAN! I don’t know his last name. His courteous, prompt, honesty, and great service has always made him the go to person for my cars. Thanks, Norman for being there for me.

  34. June 9,2015
I asked Midas on County Line Rd and Holly St. for an alignment on a company van 2001 3500 Express, the left front tire was wearing on the outside of the tire. I came back a month later July 10, 2015
and asked them to re-look at the alignment, it still wears on the left outside tire. They align the van, saying the right side was out, I rotated the tires front to back. Now, July 21, 2015 the steering wheel is cocked to the right, both tires are wearing on the outside, the left is showing cords all the way around the outside, I can hear the wear on the left tire. There was a comment from the mechanic the first time I was there, he had a hard time with the adjustment nut on the left side.
I am disappointed with the work, I drive the van out of town and the van handles very poorly. I need this resolved as soon as possible.

  35. I’ve been taking all three of my cars to the Midas on Railroad Rd. in Santa Clarita for many years. That ends today. They were busy on Friday – store manager told me the weekend was full too. He said bring it in at 8am on Monday and he’d get me in first. I told him I was going out of town and had to leave asap on Monday. I was there before 8 and it took an hour and 45 minutes to change the oil and rotate the tires. Jason told me he was the district manager and refused to give me his bosses name. Told me he does not report to anyone. I WILL NEVER USE MIDAS AGAIN.

  36. I recommended Midas to both of my sons, for any service they would need for their autos. I have now rescinded that and will no longer have anything to do with your corp. My son brought his car in for an inspection and was informed that there was needed repairs that would cost over 200. As he has a friend who is a mechanic, and as he just lost his job, he told them not to do the work. They told him to come in and pick up his car. When he arrived they told him they had done the work and if he wanted his car back he had to pay. Just so you know you can forget our business and there will be complaints we the BBB and atty gen in PA

  37. As a followup. My son was called a liar by the local Midas mgr and his complaint to the regional office fell on deaf ears. When he told them he would never come back to their store he was told that he didn’t sound like the type of person they would want anyway. I deal with people all the time and I can say I will no longer use or recommend Midas and that they have the worst customer service dept I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. For 200. they have lost what I hope to be thousands in business.

  38. One last comment. These people must really value your business, as I could not find anyway to log a complaint with them, via e-mail, but rest assured there will be formal complaint with our State Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau.

  39. I paid $1,000 for a new Rack and Lake Region showed me that they never installed it. I contacted Midas customer service several times and no one has gotten back to me. I’m disgusted with Midas.

  40. I want a response for your franchise scams. Midas in Mineola NY. First problem was when I first walked in. Made an online reservation and the owner said that he forgot to check online reservation. It was just for a inspection. He does the visual inspection and tells me that my power steering fluid is leaking and the repair would be just under $1000. He charges me for the inspection and I go to get a second opinion from my mechanic. My mechanic says no leaks after running all the tests. Not only did he waste my time taking off of work but my mechanic’s. This is not the first time he has done this to young females. Check google and yelp reviews. Spread the word!!

  41. I have been terrorized by your company for last 3 years. I called multiple times (every time I get junk mail from you) and tried to get myself off the annoy people mail list and never it was never successful. I have recordings of all these calls for last 1/2 year, I’m getting desperate thinking if I actually need a attorney to resolve this issue ista have with you.

  42. About 1 month ago I purchased a new set of tires from midas in clanton Al. Last night I had a blow out on one of the new tires. I took it back to clanton today and the manager told me my tire blew out on the side wall because it got too hot.. When I asked for a replacement tire he quoted me a price of 200 dollars, which is what I paid for it originally. I refused to pay that price considering I only had them a month or so. I believe midas should stand behind there products. I will nor will anyone I know ever be a customer of midas again

  43. SOME IDIOT CALLING HIMSELF BO, CALLED FROM MIDAS WITH A STRONG ACCENT THAT I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND HE WAS VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFULL AND NOTHING WAS RESOLVED PLEASE HAVE PEOPLE THAT SPEAK ENGLISH SOLVE PROBLEMS OVER THE PHONE.

  44. Yesterday went to the Midas on McKnight road in Ross Township, Pittsburgh for a state inspection on my car. Went there because my regular garage closed up, and Midas recently very efficiently and professionally installed a much needed muffler on this car needing state inspection. Analysis – needed front brakes. After discussion, under some pressure, yielded to have job done to leave with a state approved inspection. The employees were polite and very knowledgeable, but the price of the work, I consider, a rip-off! The average price of GOOD pads and rotors is about $189. I arrived at these prices checking local parts stores, and I know the job is one hour in duration at an average $75 an hour labor. I was charged $169.97 for parts, and $98 for labor for a total of $267.97. I could have done the job myself, but at 79, it is more difficult to get down on the garage floor to work. I will think twice next time where I have my work done, and would appreciate you feed back on why such exorbitant pricing.

  45. The customer service in Glenwood Springs is by far the worst experience. Letting this franchise use the Midas name is a joke. I was towed in at 10am this morning needing a new tire and oil change. I was clear I needed my car and would wait. I was told there were a few people in front of me and I could grab breakfast next door. When I returned my car was untouched so I sat inside. One mechanic came out reached for my keys and said “Oh I don’t think we have a tire”. Why would I wait an hour and a half before finding this out??? Shouldn’t an inspection of my car be done when I checked in? Disrespecting people’s time is inexcusable. I am now waiting on a second tow to someone who can help me! What a disgrace.

  46. I took my 1993 Nissan D21 two wheel drive pick up truck in for a wheel alignment on 9/1/15. After I got the alignment I went to discount tire & purchased a set of 4 new tires. three month later i notices that the two front tires are already wearing out very bad. I had to take the Nissan to have another alignment done. I was told that the alignment was not done correctly the first time. Now I am out of paying for another wheel alignment and now have to purchase another two new tires because of this problem. I am disappointed with the work,. I need this resolved as soon as possible. I have a complaint into corporate already with a reference number of 4093765. If this is not resolved i am forced to post my problem with midas on social media for bad service to costumers. I can also be reached at 602-348-9559. Thank you very much for adding on more stress to my life.

  47. I am absolutely disgusted with my experience st Midas. I will do everything in my power to keep people from getting ripped off the way I did. I took my car in to get looked at about five months ago because every once in a while it wouldn’t start up right away. I took it in and after looking at it they told me it was because I needed a new fuel pump and that it would cost me $990.00 to fix. So 8 hours and nearly a thousand dollars later I went to pick my car up and when I went to leave my car wouldn’t start. The man who worked on it came out and popped the hood and looked at it. After about three try’s it finally started and the man shrugged his shoulders and I kid you not said “Well I don’t know why it’s doing that but I’m pretty sure it’s safe to drive” and sent me on my way. They never offered to look at it again nor did they call back for a check up. Since then I’ve had to get a new starter in and not even a month later my check engine light was back on. I never Called and complained at the time I just took it as a lesson learned and to never go back there again. Well, just recently I received a cupon in the mail for a free oil change and tire rotation because I’m a ‘valued customer’ so I thought what they heck I could use a free oil change so take the cupon in to Midas to get it and the man looks at the cupon then looks at me like I’m stupid and says you can’t use this cupon it’s for conventional oil and you need high mileage oil. Well thank you Midas for sending me something I can’t use for being completly rude about it. I’m done with this place and like I said I will do anything in my power to keep people from having the same awful experience I did.

  48. I havent been back to this location since Luis left (probably a year ago). I had brought my car in due to check engine light on 1-7-16 at 3:00pm. Jason informed me that the parts needed for the 2010 gensis coupe (2 upstream 02 sensor part#15346 and 1 Downstream 02 part# 15341) was needed. Jason asked if I could pay half of the amount. I paid the full amount (Invoice 0282293) at 4:43pm so they could get the parts. Jason arrives to explain that nobody has the parts.. not even the dealer. He explained to me that if I would come back tomorrow , he would have the parts to get them installed. I arrived the next morning at 7:30am to drop off the car. My husband dropped me off at work. I called at 2:07pm to see if the car was ready. Jason informed me that he would call me when the car was ready for pick up. I called back at 6:09pm and asked if my car was finally ready. He informed me yes. I asked what time does the store close. He stated 6:00pm. I stated to him that I waited for his call and he did not call. I told him that I would be on my way about 10-15 minutes. Now mind you that this is rush hour traffic and we are driving from Seaworld area to Bandera at this time. He called back at 6:36 and asked if he could leave my key inside the gas closed gas cap. I said no. I would be there since we are currently on Bandera. We finally arrived and picked up the car. I had asked if he could save the parts so I can send them off for realiablity testing. He handed me the box and only 2 parts were in the box not three. I do not know what happen to the customer service and this apparently showed a lack of customer service to a customer who had been going to this location for years. The mileage listed on the invoice was not 49116.. it was 53,414. I know this bc of the check engine light. I do not know what happened to this store. I remember even meeting the district manager when Luis was there when having work done on my car. There is a lot of things that may need to be cleared before I return to Midas. It is really sad that I have to take my business elsewhere since I already had a good experiences with this store.

  49. Took car in to have something done I could have done myself but when I drive away car loud as all hell guess what hole in muffler was very quiet before I came in but they say hole was already there and will fix for $256.00 . If it already had a hole why wasn’t it making noise before I came in? . It’s ok what comes around goes around . The universe will catch up to these crooks one way or another.

  50. Take car in for something that I could have done myself being lazy so i i take it to midas when I drive away car is loud as all hell . Guess what hole on muffler guy say that the hole was already there and will fix or $256.00. If it already had a hole why wasn’t it making noise before I came in. Before I came in it was very Quiet. Car was not in that condition before I took it to them. What goes around comes around the universe will deal with these crooks.

  51. I was at your shop on Circle Dr & Platte Ave in Colorado Springs CO today at 12:15 pm. I entered the shop and the Manager was on the phone discussing one employee’s mental health and the romantic affairs of others. He did not take the time to acknowledge my presence during the 5-7 minutes I stood in front of him waiting for service. I have been a customer at Midas for over 20 years and have always received great service and customer service until today. I thought he would acknowledge my presence as I walked out the door, but that did not happen. Worst customer service experience I have ever encountered.

  52. Downingtown, PA : I will NEVER go back. Stopped in for Price quote on Front brake pads. There was a $special going on. so Jim said $120 parts & Labor. I get there and they told me I needed new rotors too, which was totally untrue ! I just had my car inspected and AAA said I did Not need rotors. My pad rated #4 out of #7 at inspection just a month earlier. I told Jim this, and that I did not want rotors, just the pads. They tried to sell me a Couple other things( cabin filter & air filter) I said No. Then when they rang up my bill, they said it was $543!! WTH Jim claimed he thought I said yes to all. How do you get NO confused with Yes? I didn’t sign approval on anything. I said put my old rotors back on, they were fine, Jim and the Lead Tech said, oh sorry, the scrap truck just left and your rotors where on it. ( ok… just checked my license and weird thing is… didn’t say I was born yesterday!) I paid $212 to get my car and leave. they wouldn’t let me leave without paying that part!!
Now, they want me to come back and pay the rest ! Which I am still unsure what ‘the rest’ is! I will spread the word about this place.(P.S…. I got four places estimates (And State Inspection by one), and confirmed that I did not need Rotors, and my bad for going to the least expensive, most convenient time to take-in place)

  53. I had appt-4PM my car is still in the lot. Last time I had an appt. I waited 3 hours. This is getting to be ridiculous I have a contractor scheduled to be at my home at 5:15 and I’m tired of rearranging my schedule because Midas in Homewood can not properly manage their appointments. Something must be done with this location. Barbara Vorbau

  54. Hello,
I own an Infinti G35x. my engine cut off after my check engine light came on. over the past month it came on and went off 4 times. After i came on the 4th time the car began to stall when i tried to accelerate and i would hear a clicking kind of noise and then my car would eventually shut off. I took it to the shop and the did an obd test. They told me i needed a new mass air flow sensor, new O2 sensors, I replaced the mass air flow sensor as advised because they said that ma clear up the other codes. Car still had same issue. after another obd test they get a new code that was not there before. (P1217). Now this could be a number of things. They proceed to tell me i now need a cooling fan control module, new engine thermostat, cooling system flush, and new radiator fan motors. As advised i had them replace the thermostat, do a system flush. at this time they tell me i have air in my system so i tell them to take care of that. My car has been there for 4 days now. I got it back today and i still have no heat. Is it just me or should they have checked for air in the system before they started replacing parts? Air in the system can cause sensors to read bad on the obd test. Also my fans seem to be working fine which leads me to believe that they are guessing at what the problem is rather than trouble shooting the issue and finding out exactly what wrong with my heat. They have had me replace parts that were not the issue. I have spent almost spent $1000 and i still have the same issue. The location I went to i on Rhode Island Ave in Washington DC. I am Very dissatisfied with their work and poor costumer service.

  55. I previously posted a comment about my most resent visit to Midas on rhode island ave. in Wash DC. on top of all that they did wrong i asked them to put my parts back on and refund me for the parts they charged me for. After they install the parts i pick my car back up. While inspecting my car i see that my coolant is complete drained from my reservoir and the radiator. I proceed to fill up the reservoir everything is fine there but something is not right with the radiator. As i pouring in the coolant i hear i hitting the ground. Put connected the old parts back on sabotaged my car gave it back like it was ok. they also had my car all day today and the manager declined to give me any info on what the did. their service is completly disrespectful and unprofessional.

  56. my wife took my 2008 jaguar xtype to midas in allentown pa for an inspection. After a while they came out and told her they failed the front and rear pads and rotors. The estimate was $1200.00. I told her to take It home and I ordered the parts and did it myself for $156 total. When I took it apart, I found that there was absolutely no difference in the old parts and new parts. Same car, last year, they failed the steer tires. They were worn a little on the inside. Very little. Estimate was again $1200.00 for tires and alignment. Took to a tire shop fornew tires, guy bought them from me because there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. After my wife went back for reinspect, she confronted the tech with this info. She had the old parts in the trunk and tried to get him to show her which part failed and why. He refused. Just because the state makes us get inspected, its not a license for midas to rob people. Its fraud, and I intend to do something about it. You should be ashamed. Will never ever do business with midas again

  57. Bad customer help couldn’t even get my oil change yesterday because they for get bout they customer saw me didn’t say can I help you after I came in 15 minutes ago and this told the man I need an oil change his friend or Co worker said soon as he get off the phone looking up at part for some one he help you well okay I wait I wait I wait well he he finally get off the phone after
20 minutes never said give me a second please or this respect that om waiting on him could have put them on hold but the guy who told me after he get off the phone he will attend you well 30 minutes go by they just laughing and forgot all bout me looking at me but this not careine so I left and went to Firestone because that was so unprofessional and I hope no customers never how to go through that and I’ll never be back on oggechee U.S.17 Midas.

  58. I took my 2004 Kia Sorento to Midas the week before thanksgiving to replace the timing belt. I had been contemplating trading it in or keeping it for a while and decided to keep it so I knew it was time for the timing belt to be replaced.

They were partially finished on the following day but had damaged the AC unit so I had to bring it back early the week of thanksgiving. They did not finish the first day I came back as they did not get around to it so I had to bring it the following day. This is a total of 4 days at this point.

I drove it home that night and was headed to central FL in the morning. I noticed a new vibrating sound at a certain speed and video taped it. After looking under the hood I realized they had only put two of the 5 engine cover bolts back on and it was very loose. I took it off and it seemed to be ok.

When getting into FL I had to use the AC and realized the vibration was back. I pulled over and examined the visible part of the engine and belts and discovered the timing belt cover was cracked and loose. I attributed the sound to this and knew I was going to have to bring it back, yet again, to Midas once I got back to Atlanta.

Thanksgiving day I was driving and all of the dash warning lights came on. The power steering was out so I turned right back around and stopped the engine. The power steering and alternator belt had been slung off and nothing else was spinning when I tested it by starting it up again.

A family friend from Atlanta was visiting at the same time so he offered to come look at it. He has been a mechanic for about 15 years and donates his time one Saturday a month to a church in Kennesaw fixing cars for people who don’t have enough resources. He took a look and said it was not good…the crankshaft bolt was off.

He took everything off to get to it and realized that the timing belt cover was tattered, cracked, broken and connected only in two places. I took pictures and video and I still have the cover. There are places that have open holes into the timing belt compartment. The alternator tensioner was not even wrenched down but only hand tightened.
While the cover was off he insisted I drive 60 miles to the nearest dealership that had the cover so I did. He was astonished at the condition of the vehicle which is why he urged me to take the video. 5 hours later I am up and running.

That Sunday I packed the car with my mother and all of her stuff she needed for a 2 month’s stay in Atlanta. I got as far as Valdosta and the bolt came loose again. With my 85 year old mother and my sister with me I had to make a judgement call on how to get back to Atlanta. Since this was the fault of the incredibly negligent mechanic in the first place I decided to have the car towed the rest of the way back to Midas. We rented a cheap hotel and rented a car to get us back the next day. Both me and my sister we scheduled to work so we had to take the day off.

Midas charged me nearly $775.00 for the initial repair. Because of the condition of the vehicle the job basically had to be performed again so that should be refunded or reduced. I had to pay another $665.00 to get it back to the Midas that did the work. I paid $170 for the car rental and $40 for the hotel room.

All together I paid about $1650.00, not counting the 5 hours of work to replace the timing belt cover and repairs to get the car running again, and it still did not run right.

They offered to pay for the car rental but refused to pay for the tow. I feel so screwed because i had no other choice but to get back to Atlanta.

    Please help me.

    Chris Henson

  59. Still the worse place to go. Customer Service sucks. There was a reason why I stop, dealing with Midas on Paxton St in hbg pa. They over book and act like the can’t find you in the system when you come in for your appointment.
When I made my appointment with Dave after getting my car info, he should have known my car didn’t take regular oul for the $24.99 special. Instead wait till I waste mt time and come out for the Manager, Nathan who was not friendly and rude, raising his voice for no reason with a room full of customers.
Told me I should have know what type on oil m car took. I asked if he could give me a discount for misleading me and he said no…not his fault I didn’t know or read the special right.

They only want to deal with ghetto people and cars…will neber again deal with Midas.

  60. There is not enough words to describe the horrible Service and Customer service I have been put through by the crooks named Midas. I’m disgusted, they screwed up my Transmission replaced it free and that one failed after mega complaints to Customer service,BBB, NYatg I had to PAY to replace it, that one failed in less than 2 months, They replaced it free but we will see if it lasts? The franchise Owner, area manager and Head office show no remorse or concern for any of it and have numerous unanswered complaints. It cost me lots of money, extreme stress, wasted my time and now I can put my Truck in drive and go again, yeah for the 4th time!! I took it originally for preventive maintenance fluid change . All of the Midas team lied and covered A– in an effort to profit on there own incompetent mechanics, of which none still work there. Midas Corporate should be ashamed but they don’t care, just collect money while they fraudulently make false claims of Hassle Free service and BBB accredited “NO THEY LOST THAT” but the BBB is crooked too. I never even got an “were sorry” from any of them. The entire BS franchise nationwide is a joke, over charging customer while claiming AUTO service experts, YEAH??
Shame on all of you MIDAS. Your company is disgusting. NEVER GO TO MIDAS unless you want the Midas Touch…BEND OVER ! Crooks.

  61. I recently went to midas on court st in binghamton ny and was charged 3x higher for the part then sold in stores its unfair.

  62. I was in your shop on west broad Street located in Columbus Ohio yesterday and your ” Master mechanic”Needs to learn customer service skills just because I’m a woman dose not make me stupid.

  63. First I called and made an appointment then we get there and was told by the gentleman that answered the phone forgot to enter it into the computer system so we left and came back at the time specified By the gentleman that waited on is in store then had to wait another 1.5hrs with my 4yr old son so by this time I was not to happy with the way they where conducting themselves just sittin therr talking about other cusyomers finally the the vehicle in and they say that they cannot do the work requested because the vehicle needs extra work done now I and my bf know it does not need this work done because it was just done days prior. There “master mechanic” shows me and as we are on our way through the garage too where the van is he looks at me and with his little flashlight he says to me do u see that toolbox there pointing the light that’s mine I’m a master mechanic treating me like I was inferior Just because I’m a female needless to say the van did not have the services done and will be taken elsewhere for this service needed if that is how you teach your techniciansto conduct business then

  64. Took my 2006 Ford Focus to Midas on Mapleview drive in Barrie Ontario on March 12, 2016. Was told by the service manager that he refused to do an oil change unless I used semi synthetic oil. I have been using 5w20 since the car was new. Will not return to any Midas for anything ever.

  65. I take my caddillac srx to the midas shop in middletown ny for oil change, and brakes,my wife takes her car there also, but on 3/15/16 ,I took my vehicle for the following repairs, brakes, tune up,and to check for why my a.b.s. warning light is on,I brought the parts, just paid for labor, when I was called to pick up my car ,the manifold gasket set was still in the car,had to take the car back, they put the gasket set in ,I spent $525.00…..when I left stupid and trusting as I am ,I drove away confident my car was good, now on take off the car will Stahl and abs light comes on…..you lost my business, and my wife and son,I am the vice president of the transportation local union in nyc, with over 10,000 members, you know what I’m gonna recommend?

  66. Good Evening, I visited one of your Tampa locations after scheduling an appointment online. My appointment was for 5:30 for an oil change. When I arrived at the location at 5:30 I was told that I could not get an oil change because someone arrived before me and they do not take appointments for oil changes. I did not understand why I was allowed to make an appointment online for an oil change and not told that they were first come first serve.

  67. I had a repair done at your location on 3100 Duke Street Alexandria VA 22314 over five weeks ago for over $1000.00 cause my engine light came on. The mechanic or manager called and told me about the repairs and cost and I agreed. so just two days ago the engine light sensor came back on, I thouhgt maybe some came loose to cause it to do that so fast. So I took it today for Midas to check why the engine light came on, they didn’t bother to call me and say it was going to cost me $108.00 to do the diagnosis, to my surprise. I figured since they just repaierd my car they would check it for free or at least call me to tell me they where going to charge me that amount.when I asked the Manager, I think, he said no and I also asked him if I had the repairs done will I be credited that amount and also he said no.I’m pissed off and ripped off cause the work they did and couldn’t find that other issues, witch if they had told me it was going to cost me over or close to $3000.00 I would not had the repairs done. I beilve they should refund the cost of the diagnossis at least.

  68. My story is long. I am going to try and paint a good picture. I went in three weekends in a roll. I went in for an oil change, fuel injection cleaning, and my engine light was on. I was told I had a crack in the valve cover gasket and oil was leaking on the back of the engine. While waiting on all of that to be repaired, the Manager ask me when did I have my spark plugs changed. I couldn’t remember. He come back with a dirty spark plug and stated they needed cfhanging. I okayed the work. My SUV ended up with a gas leak, oil leak, SUV kept cutting off, had to put my foot on the gas to start it. I ended up renting a car due to all the problems they cause trying to fix it. The Manager lied about parts he ordered that he didn’t have to order. I ended up with carbon build up that he says will burn off like the gas will burn off. This company is unreal, but so, so real. They messed my vehicle up. It never go fixed. I tried to complain on line by filling out the survey form. It wouldn’t go through. Bunch of franchise crooks.

  69. I have had an extremely horrible expirience at one of the Midas locations and I’m having an even worst time trying to get ahold of someone to speak with about this. Please reach out to me.

  70. Outraged that my safety was put at risk after going to midas on Holland rd in Virginia beach. Tried midas for first time when my brake and abs light came on. My front brakes were replaced but I was advised they could not get my abs light off so I would have to take it to dealer to get computer reset. I was advised that all was fixed and car was safe to drive. The dealer informed me that the abs light was still on because abs system needed to be replaced. I drove young grandchildren in that car and just lucky I did not need abs system. When I called midas they said that if dealer couldn’t t get light off it probably did mean that abs is bad. His could your company ad ertise brake specialty and not detect bad abs!!. Midas needs to take brake off the list of things you do. I will make sure anyone I know will not return to midas. Very upset today.

  71. I would like to see if Midas will yet again get away with providing defective equipment and if there is something that can be done to the car that I had supposedly had a brand new AC compressor put in. I had it replaced in July 2015 and of course did not use it much because of the change of weather. Now here it is coming close to summer and what do you know… hot air blowing. I should have expected this because of how Midas damaged another vehicle I owned and claimed that they did nothing wrong. I no longer service ANY of my vehicles through Midas and would like to see if this is something else that Midas will get away with. If I could at least have them get the AC to work on this “brand new” compressor without charging me another grand I would appreciate it. I’ve already lost out on the other vehicle that Midas has damaged. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF MONEY AND DO NOT GO TO MIDAS

  72. I took my toyota rav4 in to your midas location in Catonsville Md. I thought the throttle body needed to be cleaned, as it turned out I needed a tune up, and I do not see how this was possible since I had one done there in June of 2015 and have only put 12,000 miles on it since. They did not give me an estimate and charged me 100.00 dollars more for the same work. They put more expensive spark plugs in this time and did not even ask me if that is what I wanted. I did not ask for a estimate cause I figured how much more could it be for the same work. Needless to say I am very upset about this kind of customer service, needless to say you have lost my business.

  73. To Whom It May Concern,

I just wanted to say a few words about my experiences with Paul Rose and his team at the Midas in Hyannis, MA. Paul is the man, everytime he has assisted me I become more of a fan of Midas. Paul always goes out of his way to ensure that his customer understands the issues their vehicle is having, and he does a great job explaining it in a way anyone can understand. This team has made me a life time customer. Paul and his team should most definately get some sort of recognition for their hard work and dedication to giving great customer service.

  74. My wife made an appointment to have the oil changed and tire rotation as advertised. The oil change was done but the tire rotation was not because she was told it didn’t need it. This the second time this was done at one of your delaers. When she called me I told her to demand it be done. They complied but only after much effort and frustration. The manager said it is the policy to rotate the tires if necessary. Your ads says tire rotation, not tire rotation if necessary. Tire rotation is a preventative measure and can’t be judged by looking at the tires. I will look further on who I can contact to prevent the continuing false advertising that apparently is company policy.

  75. Amazing at this day and age that was a part is under warranty and if that part fails or anything happens you have to pay labor charge to replace the part Nobody Does that today you go to the dealer you go to Firestone you go to your neighborhood mechanic if a part fails they they change it and they don’t charge you labor cost I have a part for ever reason failed within 10 months so the part was replaced twice plus the original installation three separate labor charges I would never go back to Midas again

  76. I went to Midas at Plano, TX for a brake check. The mechanic could not open one of the nuts on the driver side wheel. Mike informed me about it and said that the stud would break if we forced to open it. I asked him not to open it and try to provide an estimate without taking out the wheel. However, they still tried and broke the stud. I asked Mike why did they do it even after I asked them not to do it but he declined to take any responsibility. All he said was to take it to the place where I got the new tires installed some time back as they are responsible for it. If Midas broke it without my consent to force open it, why should anyone else be responsible for it. It will cost be $50 to get this fixed and Midas should be responsible for paying for the damage. Need this fixed right away.

  77. My wife took her car to Coon Rapids/Riverdale Midas on 10/3/16 for oil change and tire rotate, they removed tires, dropped oil and changed filter, lowered car down to add oil and the tires were not back on the car yet, as they lowered the car, they lowered right on to one of her tires exploding the tire, the tech then hollered out with some F-bombs loud enough for all customers in waiting area to clearly hear, they then approached my wife with what happened and said they would replace the tire. Now we have 1 tire on the car that is mismatched and significant tread difference, so now when they get rotated again, it will get put to front and cause possible tire pull. I contacted them on this and they said they will either put another tire on that’s used or split the difference for another new one. I told them I will not spend my from my pocket do to their negligence, the manager tells me it’s my only 2 options… not acceptable, I will be contacting corporate.

  78. My name is johnnie scott….I been talking to you(Roco) 11/21 to 11/28 2 to 3 times a day about fixing the leaks, air condition and front left light that was broke while fixing my heater…you promised me on 11/ 19 at 4.42 pm you would fix those problems as soon as the part arrive ..you told me the leak was coming from the flush you proformed for the heater..still had some residue in some of the lines and that i should have no problems..ok i accepted what you said and paid you..now you strung for 10 days to then flip the script and want me to pay for something you broke…I had no problems with leaks, left front light or air condition until you worked on my car located at 3400 n rancho dr…midas of las vegas….

  79. Why do you bother with making appointment on line ? First it looks like a great idea, easy and quick; I got an email back to confirm the appointment but once I went there ” sorry out of luck too busy ” seriously??? I will never go back that’s for sure…I also will make sure to share my experience with as many people as
    I can…

  80. I have used your service for many years and wish to make a suggestion rather than a complaint. I was given an appointment time at 12 PM arriving at 11:55 to check in. At 12:45 my car was still in the parking space and no one had bothered to take it in. The manager Aaron at your 4055 N. Academy location in Colorado Springs was apologetic but told me that it would still be awhile for a lift to be ready for my oil change and for someone (Bob) to look at a noise in my muffler system. Fast forward two hours. I had to leave to take my wife to a doctor’s appointment and asked that they put the tires back on my car so I could leave. Guess what? They did not do an oil change or anything else to my car. From the time I left home until I got back again it was three hours. I do not want to use your services again unless there is some way that I can be compensated for my wasted time. Thank you

  81. i have bought your companies microwave in 2015. but no one came to give demo. i will complaint at shop from where i bought it. bit all in vain. i am not satisfied with your service.

  82. This is to serve as a courtesy warning to possible patrons of the Butler Midas located at 101 Evans City Road, Butler, PA. The on-site manager for this station is Robert Y. (last name omitted) and the District Manager that oversees this station is Trenton K. (last name omitted). I scheduled and took my vehicle to this service center for a state safety inspection and oil change. I dropped my vehicle off at 12:30 for the scheduled appointment. I was under the impression that everything was proceeding fine with the inspection and oil service until I received a phone call from Robert at 4:30 (end of the work day and 4 hours after I had dropped the vehicle off). He stated that Trenton had come into the station and noticed my vehicle in the queue for service. Robert stated that Trenton declared to him that he had paid out a repair claim on my vehicle for damage that was caused during a previous service appointment a month or so prior. This accounting is accurate. The Butler station caused damage to my vehicle on a previous appointment, which they paid to have repaired. It’s of value to mention at this point that I have used Midas for 13+ years with great service throughout, with exception for the isolated instance of damage. I was not going to hold one bad experience against them, as any shop or mechanic can have a bad day. I pursued forward with that thought and returned for the corresponding service appointment in question. Returning back to the end-of-the-day phone call, Robert stated that they would not be performing my state inspection. The reasoning that was given is that for the visual inspection requirement portion of the state inspection, they needed to remove components that Trenton had informed them they had to repair from damage from the previous appointment and that they were not going to be held liable for possible damage a second time. Immediately, this sounded like a rouse to retaliate for the repair claim. My thought was, “perform the task correctly and no damage should occur, correct?” From the tone of the conversation with Robert, I quickly ascertained that any continued discussion for getting that service completed was not going to be productive. I moved forward and asked about the oil change. I was told that because of the previous repair claim, they would not put my vehicle on one of their conventional post lifts. Robert stated that they would need to put my vehicle on their “drive-on” lift to perform the oil service. It was stated that this lift was currently in use and would be in use overnight to the affect that they would not be performing my oil service either. I was then told to arrange to pick up my vehicle before they closed. I promptly arrived down at the service station no more than 30 minutes later and immediately noticed that there was no vehicle on their “drive-on” lift. I captured a photo to preserve that fact. So here’s the summary. I had a scheduled appointment to have a state inspection and oil service performed. They had my vehicle for 4+ hours and failed to perform either service. It is my perception that this purposeful service refusal was a juvenile attempt to retaliate on the previous repair claim that they incurred. I feel that it was highly unprofessional and my objective is to warn prospective customers of the past actions of these two managers. Despite this experience, I will continue to use Midas. I will however, never take my vehicle back to the Butler Midas as long as these two managers are in the wheel-house.

As a side note, I was told by both managers that any complaint I would make would simply be forward back to them and quickly discard in the trash. That is why I am populating this complaint through any and all mediums within the Midas corporate structure to ensure that word of their actions makes it outside of their jurisdiction of control.

  83. I bought an oil change service with Midas on Living Social. I tried several times to make an appointment at Midas in Oak Lawn, IL and was told they do not make appointments, just bring car in. Upon arrival I was told that it would be about 3 hours before they could get to my vehicle. I don’t understand this. For a 10 minute oil change? REALLY? I will never, ever wait 3-4 hours for a 10 minute oil change. This was a waste of my money and I will NEVER EVER GO TO MIDAS WITH OR WITHOUT A COUPON. Very very disappointed.

    • Melaine they did you a great service by NOT Changing your Oil. The incompetent MIDAS technician would have found something else to fix and screwed up your car with the unneeded repair. They probably would have put in the wrong oil or left the dipstick out. NEVER GO TO MIDAS.

  84. I went Midas to get a diagnostic and instead I received a bill for an alternator and after that didn’t work after turning the car on they stated it was my starter. David is a slick taking salesman who lies out the side of his mouth. We took the vehicle to a different dealer and the alternator nor the stater was repaire or replaced the car runs like junk laboring on the street . I am telling my attorney to file civil documents. Midas on 211 in Middletown NY , is the worst place you can bring your car to, just read the reviews these people are not lying. The whole shop is a butcher shop!!!! Never do business with at place again. And will continue to warn others about this rip – off shop. Even if I have to with my friends and stand with signs we will picket until they close down !!!!!

  85. I wish to complain about MIDAS-North Reading, Massachusetts and their immediate supervisor located in New York.
My wife had a very positive experience, with the previous owner, but when she brought an automobile for just an evaluation, and never authorized services-she was totally ignored, and they performed unneeded work.
She was unaware that ownership changed hands, and the present ones were “thieves”.
The present owners/management are not worthy of your establishment’s name.C
They have been reported to the North Reading Police, the local newspaper, the BBB, the Chamber of Commerce and the two Commonwealth Senators.

I was quoted one price to replace my brakes and when I got there they went from the quoted price of $190.00 to $290. I told him I was not willing to pay this and wanted to leave. The manager , Sean said he would give me the brakes for $190.00. He then insisted I needed a new radiator, my oil changed and rotaries so my $190.00 quote to replace my brakes is now up into the thousands. I told him I could not afford that and to just do the brakes. I also told him I had a coupon, this was a groupon I paid $90.00 and the rest of the cost was covered by the coupon. Sean became extremely combative disrespectful and rude. he said “what’s your problem, you don’t have any money ?” I said I came here to get my brakes replaced because I had a coupon and that’s all I can afford at this time. I work full-time and I am a college student so I am on a budget. Sean then started telling me that if I did not get my rotors replaced that I could be driving down the freeway and not have breaks and kill someone. I asked how this was possible because I was getting new breaks and Sean became more combative and verbally abusive.
I reminded him that the number gave me on my rotors were within the legal range to drive . He was being such a bully and calling me names that I began to cry. I just wanted my car back. the brakes were replaced but when I went to give Sean my coupon to cover for the repairs Sean refused to accept my coupon and charge me full price. Sean was a bully and he scammed me. I went there simply because I had a coupon that I paid $90 for and it would cover the cost of my brakes which in the end Sean refuse to accept and charge me full price. At the very beginning of our conversations I told him I had a coupon so I had to stay within the range or what if you can get allow me to spend. If Sean was going to refuse my coupon he should have told me BEFORE the service was done on the brakes so I could have taken my business someplace else. A coupon cost me $90 plus $190 for my brakes so I ended up paying $280 for brakes that should have only cost me $90 I paid for the coupon. I plan on taking legal action because this was a scam. I would never take my car here again.

  87. First I would like to say I am not happy. I bought new shocks and struts and brakes in 4/21/2018 for my 2014 GMC Terrain. I spent $1500. I bought them with the understanding I would receive $75 for shock and struts rebate and $100 rebate for brakes. I completed the rebate forms appropriately and sent in with the required receipts. To this day I have not heard anything or received my prepaid visa cards for the rebates. I called the Rebate Center approximately a month ago at Synergy Bank and they said they only do rebates for Tire America on tires only. So I called the store I bought them at in Stow, Ohio. I talked to Scott a manager and he said he would talk to the District Manager. I waited 2 or more weeks and never heard back from Scott or District Manager. So I called the store again. they said Scott was on sick leave and Chad was in charge. I talked to Chad and he said he would talk to District Manager. I wanted another 2 weeks and heard nothing. So I called store again and this time I talked to Paul the District Manager. He said he knew nothing about it. He said he would talk to Chad and call me back the same day 7/5. As of today I heard nothing. So I called the store again and talked to Chad. He said the District manager Paul was on vacation and he would have another District Manager who is filling in for Paul call me today. I talked to Chad at 8:00AM this morning. It is now 3:45PM. No word yet. In summary I sure am getting the run around. All I want is the telephone number of the rebate center. No one is calling me. I assume they hope I will just go away. I want my $175 rebate. At this point because of the run around I feel the store should just give me $175 credit for future service or write me a check for $175. I prefer the money at this point. The address of the store is 4401 Kent Rd Stow, Ohio 44224 telephone number 330-688-1910. I want someone to take action. This is really ridiculous. Please help. Lee Swerline 330-440-2374. 89. Spent $410.23 for oil change, repair of three gas lines that were sliced in about 1 ft. each, a fuel filter, oil change & filter. Car was in shop for less than 1 hour, but got billed for $157.50. I then have to schedule another appointment as fuel line was leaking where they so called repaired it. I get there and they don’t have a guy that can do the work. I then get sent down to other Midas location for service and told it would at least be a 2 hour wait as 12 cars were ahead of me. I don’t mind paying for labor to be done, for 1 hour of work at a rate of $105.00 and then get billed for $231.04. I don’t understand the math used, want to give 1 star but didn’t have that option as it was required.

  90. My TRANSMISSON #4 leaked to the very last day when I finally sold my truck to a poor guy. I told him of the INCOMPETANT Midas Service which screwed up my original TRANSMISSION, replaced it, it failed , replaced it , it failed REPLACED IT, LEAKED FOREVER, all the while I got to pay while MIDAS and CROOKED franchise owner didn’t care. MIDAS IS A VERY BAD FRANCHISE WHICH SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN NATIONWIDE, THEY ARE TOTAL CROOKS AND BAD MECHANICS WHO I HATE MORE THAN ANYONE IN THE WORLD. F-U MIDAS.

  91. I’m Irene Manley customer at Midas, Lakewood, WA. I took my 2006 Chevrolet Impala December 23 for a diagnostic and repair. Bob the front desk manger said I need a transmission module, $630, Tuesday 24th it needs a “shifter” from a dealership which closes early that day. Thursday, 26th he will charge for 3 hours of labor instead of 7 which I appreciate. Friday 27th he did that my car is stuck on”park” position. My car was operable before I took it to him. Then Bob said his master mechanic will be back Monday the 30th. That was yesterday, no phone call from him! He also quoted me $1340. I added $630, $370 plus $130 labor equaled to $1130. So where did $200 plus comes from? He also said he wants my car fixed as much as I do cause it’s “ taking up space” for other customers! Sincerely Irene Manley

  92. How do I go about using my Snap loan that I got approved for? I understand that it’s a different kind of financing. How does it work?
    Sincerely,
    Irene Manley

  93. 94. Took my car in for inspection, oil change & wiper blades over the course of three days at Midas in Phila on Chelten Ave recently. On the last visit after driving away realized that an almost full container of Clorox wipes that I keep in my car for sanitizing (especially during these times) went missing. Called Midas back, was told that the Mgr would be in day after next. Called back, placed on hold, then told by front counter agent that Mgr said that “no one would take anything from your car” – REALLY??? Asked to have Mgr, Kristen, call me back. I know she won’t, but will be posting for others NOT to leave valuables or anything that you don’t want stolen in your car – UNBELIEVABLE! Will never return here & will encourage others, too.
