When we sent an email to the customer service department, we wanted information relating to the deli preparation area. In particular, we wanted to know if the deli prep area was free of know allergens and do the employees prepare meals in a safe manner. There was no indication as to when the customer support team will respond to our questions and concerns. We will update you when we receive a response. Our Experience

We love companies that place the needs of the customer before the needs of the company. Without the customer, there would not be a need for any business. This is what we expected when we contacted Hy-Vee. What we received left little to the imagination. The first thing we encountered was a personalized greeting from the customer care agent stating they would answer our call within a few short minutes. After waiting more than 5, the call took a different path. The automated response system wanted customers to leave a message. The message explained someone would return our call.

This is not what customer care is about. We called and expected to speak with a live agent and we didn’t. Our overall experience was not the best, was yours? We would love to hear your story in the comment section below.

  1. To whom it may concern..I have been a customer of HyVee for almost 40 years, primarily at the
    Urbandale store and it’s 3 previous locations….for many reasons, not the least of which is the employees.
    I have noticed a potential problem at your beautiful new store. The yogurt case is located adjacent
    to the doors that the vendors use to move their product into the store. I visit this section every week. There
    are times when they come through those doors at a high rate of speed..you have to be very watchful. I feel
    as though I’m in their way…I certainly don’t want to interfere with someone’s work! There may be no
    alternative exit/entrance, but I wonder if perhaps larger windows in those doors would help them to be
    aware of customers standing in that location? …Just a thought. Anything you could do to alleviate this
    situation would be greatly appreciated.

  2. I am addicted to HyVee bite size tostado chips. All of a sudden they are not available anymore – in their place is a smaller bag, higher priced bite size tortilla chips. Not realizing the different TYPE of chip, just noticing the smaller bag and higher price, one day they were marked down a bit because of a soon to expire date, I bought 6 bags. One bag had a glob of chips all glued together consisting of at least 2 ounces of un-edible mistake, but I still paid for it. Another bag was 1/3 crumbled chips, which normally I don’t mind some being crumbled but NOT 1/3 of the bag!!!! Just sayin’…..I’m terribly disappointed in the new poor quality of something I’ve enjoyed for years from HyVee.

  3. I wanted to compliment you on your very helpful employee, Chris Peterson who is in the Garden Center at Store 01890. We needed to exchange two Hibiscus bushes that failed to grow. Chris was so pleasant and accommodating. This was in direct contrast to the garden employee at your store at Grand and EP True. When we needed to return a plant there, she tried to make it as difficult as possible. Chris is the perfect example of a “helpful smile in every aisle.” We will return to his store very often.
