Contacting GoPhone Customer Service Center

GoPhone is a prepaid cell phone plan offered by AT&T Wireless. Phones and plans can be purchased in retail stores or online. There is no contract or credit check associated with GoPhone service, but there are hiccups in service, connectivity and phone use and that’s where customer service comes into the picture. It does not matter whether you purchase your GoPhone from AT&T or a retail location; the customer service contact information is the same.

Our Experience

Considering GoPhone is a part of AT&T, we expect the customer service department to be exceptional. We called and connected immediately. We asked the customer service agent if current AT&T customers could take their SIM card out of a contract phone and put into a GoPhone.

The agent explained this is possible, but if customers take a SIM card out of a traditional phone and place it into a smartphone, they will need to contact AT&T to update a data plan. The customer service team provided a wealth of information. Care to share your experiences? Comment in the section below.

  3. I have attempted to contact AT&T regarding a Prepaid Phone Card more than a
dozen times in the past week and have been unable to talk with anyone who can advise me if a $20 purchase of more minutes authorized by me on January 19 can be rescinded. I have spent many frustrating hours being transferred, cut off, given wrong information, etc., etc., etc. An attempt was made by AT&T to respond to my poor appraisal, but I was unable to comprehend the message that was left on my phone. Please call me with clear, specific information regarding my question.
