Dymo is a company that specializes in labels, label-making equipment and card readers of all kinds. Both personal and professional products are available online and offline in some retail stores. Dymo’s business spans across the globe with unique websites for man locations.

The US website is a bit more cluttered than other countries and the Dymo customer service information is not listed quite as openly, but we were able to locate some pretty good contact details for current and/or potential customers.

You can go to http://sites.dymo.com/Pages/home.aspx?locale=enUS to find the US Dymocustomer service website. Customers can order products and refills online, but they can also log in to their account and contact customer service. Dymo limits the customer service options for non-registered visitors, so registering for a free Dymo account is necessary if you want to contact Dymo customer service by email. If you’ve ordered from the company online you may already have an account.

We were unable to find a general Dymo account on either Facebook or Twitter. There are accounts for specific Dymo products and countries other than the US.

Customer Service Email

Sending an email to Dymo customer service works as a happy medium for some customers and a first contact choice for others. We like email because it works similarly to calling Dymo customer service but with longer delays between question and response.

You have to register for online account access at the Dymo website to send a question using the customer service email system. Registration is free and Dymo is not known to send out spam communication or offers unless the customer requests such contact.

Live Chat is also available, but only during limited hours. Dymo customer service is available for live chat between 9 AM and 7 PM Monday to Friday. There are no live chat hours on the weekends.

Our Experience

When customers can connect with a live agent in less than one (1) minute, this should be the start to a great customer call. When selected 1 and the call connected to a live agent. We asked the agent what were the hours of the customer service department, considering this information was not available on the website.

The agent explained the customer service department is open from 8 AM to 8 PM Monday to Friday. The total length on the call took less than 3 minutes. We want to know if your customer service experience resulted in answers in little no time. Share your story below.

  1. Went from Dymo Label software 7 (XP) to 8 (Win7). Jaw dropping. Ver 7 was very professional, worked smoothly and was well organized for easy use. Ver 8 looks like sixth grader’s work with unorganized big images and discombobulated functions. Various functions are now scattered all about. Something as simple as editing a tag (there is NO New Label button!!) is NOT possible IF you don’t know somehow that first you have to click on a tab in another, detached, part of the window (which is NOT labeled for this purpose BTW)!! Since there is no NEW label button — one may open, save, or print but God forbid you want to make a new label — one must open one of the sample labels and work from there. One might ask, “What about the dozens and dozens of labels you had saved from version 7?” Well, besides changing the file extension from a typical “.LWL” to a more Linux-like “.label” [what a waste of space IMHO that could lead to issues with 255-character limits], some formats must have been lost because attempting to edit some of the older labels results in a big error message proclaiming, “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” Of course. The old “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” ploy again. “Agent 99, what do you think?” Another missing function is Merge Print. Previously, one could hook a database like Access to a label, format it, save it, and then review / print records individually to one’s heart’s content. That function is now missing from the menus. Previously one could locate a saved label in Windows Explorer and Right-Click | Open it … in version 8 that results in an error message, “An outgoing call cannot be made since the application is dispatching an input-synchronous call.” Huh? This computer doesn’t even have a modem so I am pretty sure any calls being attempted are strictly in the furry little heads behind version 8.

    Oh, Customer Support. Ah, yes. Well, their contact web page didn’t work. And I quote, “Sorry, the requested page was not found. We apologize for the inconvenience. yadda yadda yadda” Oh, the contact page itself worked fine. But the underlying processing file, contactusform.php or maybe sendmenews.php (who knows I can’t be bothered to sniff it out), is obviously dead so Dymo rebounds to the stock 404 (page missing) message.

    So I tried to fax my list of questions. Fax number is now a voice line (and they weren’t too happy about the beeps in their ears either).

    No I didn’t call. Experience has shown that trying to communicate technical nuances over the phone is difficult enough without having to overcome the language barriers as well.

    I would have tried their Facebook page … BUT they don’t have one.

    That’s the trouble today. The kids are always “fixing” things that ain’t broke. As someone once said, “Just because one _can_ change a thing, does NOT mean one _should_ change a thing.” Words to live by, dudes and dudettes. Words to live by.
