Contacting CompuServe Customer Service Center
CompuServe is an Internet portal that once served more than 300,000 customers with access to the web. AOL acquired the company in 1998, kept CompuServe alive. Currently, we find mixed information about the program. CompuServe 2000 and 7.0 may both still be available to the target audience, first-time Internet users, but we could not find an official website for either.
Contact Info:
There is very little contact information available for CompuServe, but we were able to find phone numbers for two departments. There is a billing department, but we have no idea what the company is selling or if there is a fee for using an upgraded version of CompuServe.
Phone Contact Numbers
There are two support numbers for the CompuServe customer service department – technical and billing. The technical support line is available from 8 AM to 1 AM Monday to Friday and 10 AM to 10 PM Saturday and Sunday. Billing customer service is open from 10 AM to 10 PM Monday to Saturday.

Mailing Address
We were unable to find a single address for CompuServe customer service or a corporate office. We’ve included the AOL corporate address here because AOL owns CompuServe.
AOL Headquarters 770 Broadway New York, NY 10003
Official Website
The main page of the CompuServe website we found is located at http://netscape.CompuServe.com/menu/. The page is nothing more than a portal of information. According to the description of CompuServe, the company is designed for first-time users of the Internet. The simplicity of the design is supposed to make it easier to find information, news, shopping and more. The design of the site is not as ideal as the company envisions. The print is small and there are far too many words on the page giving it a cluttered look.
Customer Service Email
We could not find a CompuServe customer service email, but we did find an email address for violations of the terms and conditions. Emails can be sent to CallActionTeam@cs.com. There is also a consumer support page at http://community.CompuServe.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?floc=mc-cont-l2&webtag=ws-help&redirCnt=1. The information on the page includes current and upcoming Windows operating systems, which could mean CompuServe is still alive.
Our Experience
The customer support team was receptive to our questions. The team was polite and provided additional information without asking. When we called, a bright spot was the small amount of time we had to wait prior to speaking with an agent; less than 60 seconds.
We asked who was the primary contact when we or other individuals find inappropriate images or contact on the main website. The agent apologized first if this is occurring, but then explained the customers should contact the technical support line or utilize the email system to point out the concern. The agent recommended sending a URL when emailing technical support. Do you have a story to share? Comment below.
