Our Experience

When we contacted customer service we endured the automated system. The system continued for approximately 3 minutes and finally we pressed 0 multiple times in hopes of speaking to a live customer care agent. We waited an additional 5 minutes and finally the representative answered. The tone of the representative was not pleasant; in fact, the customer care agent was rather rude. We explained we wanted information about setting up an account. Although the question was answered, the representative did not appear happy to fulfill our request.

As far as customer service goes, The Bradford Exchange has some work to do. Our experience was not favorable. Did the company leave you sitting on hold and not seem to care? We want to hear your story.

  1. You do not want to hear what I think of this company.
    For the past 3 days, 2 E-Mails (No Response) 4 Different
    telephone numbers, and close to 2 and 1/2 hours on hold.
    AND NO ANSWERS. It’s great to here on the recordings I’ll be with you shortly (3 Days) of trying. I have bought a lot of items from this business, but I think it just came to a end. I think you should end using the the term Customer Service, you have no clue what that is. As I type the recording says Continue to Hold, calls are answered in the order received. 3 Days!!!!! What do you have 1 telephone. If you care call 406-494-5370. I’ll expect a response in about a week. Boy am I out of it.
    3 Days to talk to a major company, you should just laugh.

    • I tried calling the Bradford Exchange for one hour, and never did I speak to someone in customer Service . Finally after waiting for over an hour,my phone call was disconnected.If this is the way you do business, I will never order anything from you again.

      • I am beginning to be very bothered with their idea of Customer Service as well.,…NOT only that, BUT when I first ordered a bracelet to give my daughter on her 21ST
        birthday (on Dec 8) the date of shipment was said to be Nov.20. I thought that would be okay and I’d get it early enough. NEXT time I check it says the 26th.
        Ok so I started getting worried,…TODAY, It says it will be shipped on November 30 ! REALLY?! Come On.
        So I wrote to them asking how to CANCEL my order. I no longer want it. AND like so many here, I am DONE ordering from them. U G H !

          When they finally answer me via facebook they say waiting on credit card authorization!! I thought my credit card went through when I placed the order….now I don’t know if my grandson will have a Christmas present or not…poor poor poor

  2. I am a new customer. I called your 866-285-1736 number and waited over an hour for a rep and finally just hung up. I had some info that you might need for the order I just placed. This’ll would have been for your benefit. What is going on with your company service?

    • I order a ring for my mother on Dec. 11, 2014 and first shipping date was 12/16/14 and now today it says 2/5/14 and it was suppose to ship in time for Christmas and I have been on hold for 45 mins on customer service..

  8. Quality assurance? Bull! I ordered an item in May or June. I continue to receive notices that shipment has been delayed. Now it is supposed to be shipped February 2013. This is absolutely ridiculous! The only reason I want this order is because I haven’t seen this item elsewhere. I will never order from you ever again.   14. Well intially, I was intrepid dealing with Cust Svc after reading comments here and other places. However, while I did have to wait like 10-15mins to speak with Cust Svc, I spoke with Katelyn to check on an order that I eventually had to cancel because it wouldn’t arrive in time, and was back ordered. Overall, wish I could have gotten the item, but the experience was better then expected.

  16. I ordered a Christmas gift for my daughter. I was told it would be delivered before Christmas, however, it would cost extra. I agreed to that. This is now 4 days after Christmas and it still has not been delivered. I will be disputing the charge on my credit card. I find it interesting that Amazon deals with this company. Normally they don’t deal with companies that don’t perform. I will never order from the Bradford Exchange again. There customer service does not exist.

  17. It’s almost impossible to reach you by telephone. 30 minutes was way too long to be on hold. I reserved “My Daughter I Love You Always. Sent my first payment of $23.33 in on 11/12/12 and never received Crystal Music Box nor a second statement. My check for the above amount has already cleared. I want a response immediately as to what happen.

Marketing tactics that should be illegal, no indication that you are buying a “subscription” until after you order… Almost impossible to contact…And very poor quality product!!! Numbers everywhere to order more cheap crap, but nothing about cancelling. On hold forever, bounced from person to person when someone does actually answer…UNBELIEVABLE that companies like this are allowed to stay in business in this day and age.

If you are unable to make this correction and mail me a bill for both pendant’s per my request please cancel the whole thing, for you see i have two granddaughters and i would not think of buying for one and not the other, thats the way grandmothers are, or at least this one is.   25. It appears Bradford does not want to be contacted for problems. My order was only partially filled (one out of 3)& shipped, then they sent an email thanking me for the order that never arrived, yet they do not respond to email questions or phone calls about the delay/product not arriving when they said it had.
    I needed these necklaces for my granddaughters birthdays and they have not yet arrived, almost a month after the order was placed. Very frustrating. They should post their customer contact phone # clearly on their web site, and have it open 7 days/week…use some of their advertising $’s to ensure current customers are taken care of.

I have ordered from Bradford Exchange before with satisfaction, BUT, in February of 2013 I order a soul mate ring for my granddaughter, Rachael and her fiance, Seth and had it drop shipped to her address in Fayetteville, AR. It has been an absolute diaster! The first ring has Seth spelled with a P and after finally calling I was promised another ring would be sent and guess what… the second ring is wrong. This time they mispelled Rachael they spelled it Rashel which is wrong. and Seth’s name was still spelled with a P. This must be foreign people who do not know how to inscribe the correct letters. Please help me I paid for the ring with my Credit card and the kids still do not have a corrected ring.

After checking today I am now being told it will not be available until May 24th and maybe not even then. I want this bracelet and a commitment that I will receive the bracelet in the next delivery received for shipping and exactly when that will be. Their is no phone number to contact them that I can find on the website. I cant log in or view my account or contact them by clicking on it. It never opens up.   42. I am so frustrated with The Bradford Exchange. I’m sure my documentation is there, but on July 10 I ordered a ring for my granddaughter’s anniversary. I was told it would ship in 2 to 4 weeks. It is now August 23rd and after numerous attempts to contact them I still don’t have the ring to give my granddaughter. I recently was told because of the engraving it would take longer. I wasn’t told that at all when I placed the order. I keep checking to see if it’s been shipped, but nothing yet.   45. This company is a SCAM! There is NO such thing as customer service, that too is also a scam! They will take your $, faster then a New York second! After several eternal holds on the “non-existent customer service line” I have attempted to mail them cancelations notifying them that I do NOT want ANYTHING from their company EVER!   46. I have spent days on the phone pressing 6 to wait to talk to someone in customer service. A total of an hour and a half of my time and have not been able to talk to anyone. All I want to do is stop shipments. I will never order another thing from them. The customer service is horrible. Shame on you.   55. I ordered a canvas painting, paid $25 extra for 2-day shiiping. I received delivery as promised, however I received a Snowman snow globe thing which I DID NOT ORDER. I called the day after Christmas ans snet an email at the time I received it, but apparantly the day after Christmas is a Holiday in Indiana, not the next buisness day as expected..   56. I have been promoised a refund of $34.00 for a service charge my bank charged me for an overdraft due to Bradford Exchange. I sent them a check for my second installment, (first one being made with our credit card) with the assumption that once they received the check, they would not charge the credit card. I wrote to them complaining how they held the check until past the due date, charged the credit card and the same day processed the check, which overdrafted our account. In the email response I did get back, they informed us that they would refund the $34.00 charge. This was about 2 weeks ago. I contacted them and informed them that other companies have credited my account for one reason or another and it can be done in a matter of less than 24 hours. I let them know that I will be contacting the BBB and our attorney with a copy of the email in which we were promised a refund of $34.00. Still, nothing back. We have spent a very large amount of money with this company of the past few years, and believe me, it will never happen again. I have told my spouse that there is to be no more purchases from them, and I will be posting my complaint on all social networks I am on. This company needs to be turned over to the BBB every chance anyone gets. Never will be purchase ANYTHING from there. I can purchase ANYTHING they have somewhere else and will!

  63. I bought a very nice gift for my daughter-in-law for Christmas. She loved it and I had but the payments to be deducted automatically from my account. I had been trying for several days to reach Bradford Exchange to find out exactly how much I owe. It took we awhile to finally get a phone number that went through but once I did, I had great service. I paid my account in full. The only problem I have ever had is trying to get through to them on the phone but other than that, service was great and the gentleman located in Canada was extremely kind and helpful.

    • If you did not open the package just write refused on the front and drop it in a mailbox or post office, there is a one year return, if you never ordered it just keep it, I do and never hear from them again. Many of their items are for sale on amazon and less expensive also.

When the doll that I did order arrived, it did not look at all like the photo on the computer. The voice box also did not work. It is a $130 piece of junk. I think I will contact the Better Business Bureau for the fraud and the District Attorneys Office for the unauthorized use of my credit card. No more business from me.

Since I didn’t have it a year I returned it and within 4 weeks a new one was returned, no charge. This year while putting away another Christmas collectible somehow a piece broke off. If you want poor quality, high cost and deceptive trade practices, this is the you, but not for most folks. I ordered the Mystic Spirits Display which looks OK in print. When the order came all I got was basically two damaged sticks with a handcrafted tomahawk. “Handcrafted” means a poorly fabricated hatchet head. The rest of the display was not included. I had to go on-line to figure out the Rip Off. You have to pay extra for each part of the display. How Deceptive is this? And yes, the comments above about lack of service by telephone are on-target. Your money isn’t worth any of their products.

    Having wasted three long phone calls to clarify this on Monday, I gave up hope of a conversation and emailed the query.
    Up to now my email has been ignored, so I’ve no idea if the order is being dealt with.

  155. I ordered two items on November 19, 2014. I received confirmation of the orders and a request for payment on Nov. 26. I made the payment and on Dec. 1, I received an email stating the order was being prepared for shipment then on Dec.5 another email saying the order had been shipped. On Dec. 13 I received the order. One item was exactly what I ordered. The other item was NOT what I ordered. It was totally unacceptable. I immediately tried to call but no phone numbers are on the web-site except a number with a recording for payments to be made automatically. I tried using the return section on the website.
    First you have to complete a form to get a card that you have to send in to place your order for a Prepaid Return Label. I completed the form on December 13, 15 and 16. I received no card, no Prepaid Return Label and no response whatsoever from Bradford. I found a couple of phone numbers on this web-site and tried calling one. I was on hold for 21 minutes. I finally got a person on the phone who was very nice, very accommodating, and quickly assured me the correct order would go out at once and and should arrive in 5 to 7 days. He said he would send the Prepaid Return Label and it should arrive in 5 days. It remains to be seen how this fiasco will turn out. I don’t think I will ever use the Bradford Exchange again. I realize they are busy this time of year but that is no excuse for not responding and trying to correct their mistakes without this kind of hassle.

  165. I should have read these reviews before placing an order with this company. I too am waiting for an order placed on November 4 2014. Call the 800 numbers, wait an hour, only to say they will transfer me to customer service (which was the number I called). Earlier this month when I finally did speak to someone I was assured delivery of the 2 music boxes by Christmas. Its not happening since I haven’t been charged or got an email.
    To add to the insult, the order was initially placed over 6 months ago. Couple months after that I got a postcard stating there would be a delay in shipment until early November. Not to worry since plenty of time for Christmas. What I didn’t see on that postcard was the small print on the bottom that stated I was supposed to call IF I STILL WANTED THIS ORDER! (You would think it would be the other way around, call to cancel if you cant wait?). So back to November 4th and I called reinstating the order with a 4 to 6 week delivery window. By the way, when I finally did speak with a person earlier this month its clear now they have no clue or control over their products. All they can say was the order was at the vendor. And the now apparent stock answer “assuring” me a Christmas delivery. Never again.

    The really sad part? A grandmother, with advanced cancer, wanted these two music boxes – “I Love You To The Moon And Back” for her two granddaughters on Christmas. Its just something that companies like this cant relate to.

Just received a “order delay” postcard that my two Love You To the Moon & Back boxes have had “unforeseen delays” and the expected ship date is now 3/29/15. I followed the instructions and called the Reinstatement Line to keep the order active. This order was reinstated on November 4th when I was told shipment would be 4 to 6 weeks. Plenty of time for Christmas. When I called early December I was reassured delivery by Christmas. I guess I should have asked which year’s Christmas. Easy to see now that Customer Service has no control or even any idea on what their vendors stock is like.

This is not the first or second time I have had trouble getting someone to actually respond to a question. I wanted more detailed information about The “Heavenly Blessings” Christmas Tree. Your web page is not clear about the number of pieces they send beyond the first four installments or exactly what each installment contains. I wonder why all the secrets? What I am interested in is the names of the pieces per installment, size of tree skirt and total number of angels for tree and list of figurines such as animal count, kings , extra people etc. The total of 9 installments with shipment is over $600.00, so I would think you would be upfront with exactly what is included, not just list 4 installments giving the impression there is only 4 installments to the completion of the collection. Lets see if you have someone who can take the time to send me a list of EXACTLY what makes up this collection.

    I called a number given to me by information at phone co. This number never answered. I then called 1 866 285 1736 which I got from this website. It was a short wait, but a wonderful Customer Service person finally answered. She was polite and efficient. Her name is Cindy.

    She listened to my concerns about the product I had ordered and very promptly, arranged to have my problem resolved. I also told her about all the negative comments written here and said she should bring them to the attention of the company.

    Overall my Customer Service issue was handled professionally and hopefully I will receive my new product shortly.

    I think we should give THE BRADFORD EXCHANGE ANOTHER CHANCE. tHEY HAVE NICE MERCHANDISE.. The holiday season puts extra stress on everyone. I am a satisfied customer at this moment.

  190. I ordered a music box for my granddaughter. It was to be a SPECIAL gift for her 6-year old Christmas (a family tradition). It was ordered and confirmed on 22Nov14 with an estimated arrival date of 10-17Dec14. It did NOT arrive. I checked tracking to find shipping date of 23Dec14. I tried contacting customer service several times with NO contact. The shipping date is now 12Jan15.
    My daughter, granddaughter and myself are VERY DISAPPOINTED in not having a music box for Christmas (AND STILL DON’T) These things CANNOT be redone with the original expectations.

Three days ago,on Saturday, January 10th, I went on your website and, in your home page block sent a massage regarding the Thomas Kinkade pop up tree purchased and paid for, as well as the storage bag, also paid for, describing how it (the tree) was malfunctioning, with an offer of sending you pictures. It was a disappointment that the lights ceased to work on a large (a least 2 foot center section) of the tree before the first season was over. I am not going to go over the details that are in my previous communication but feel the total price of $219.93 for the tree and $36.98 for a tree bag indicated quality that wasn’t present in the purchase. This amount was paid for before the Christmas holiday. Your product didn’t make it through the first season. I asked for a return label for both. Your communication block promised someone would contact me the next business day. The next day I packed it up, where it sits waiting for the labels needed. So far, I haven’t heard from you. I saved the box the tree came in because it was going to be the way I stored it each year and figured the bag I purchased would afford it even more protection. The bag is still in the box as it was when received. I expect to receive these labels with complete instructions for the safe return of these items today. I paid you ahead of your expected time-payment schedule for these items and expect you to be as swift with my refund.

I won’t go in to the details, but suffice to say the wrong product came late, sent it back, the same product I returned, came back again and even that was late. This covered a period of almost 2 months. All this time, you had my money. I finally called customer service again and asked if they could guarantee the right product would be sent. The reply was, no, but she would pray for me. At that point, I asked for a refund. I mailed the product back and after 2 weeks called. I was told the refund was going back to me today. I don’t have confidence, but we will see.

This is a type of “com on ” scam that advertises a product for sale that they do not have. Ordered on 5/05/2015, delivery promised by 06/17/2015- 07/01/2015. Apparently product was not available when advertise for sale. Receive a post card 09/20/2015 saying “expected shipping date is now 08/29/2015. Their date for me to receive the product is well over 100 days for an item that should have been in stack when advertised. The fact that EBay has been a promoter of this company does not say much for the integrity of EBay. There have been over 238 complaints listed against Bradford Exchange on their website yet they still sell on Ebay with all those complaints made against them. The item that I purchased from Bradford has increased in value for more that I paid but it seems that it is now an invisible asset.

After they arrived, we found they were the wrong size so they were returned and the right size ordered. When these arrived there were two different sizes in the box. These were returned and I placed an order for the correct size. I rec’d a card asking me to contact customer service. I attempted to do this today. After sitting on hold for 10-12 minutes, I tried to call an order line to possible get connected that way. Imagine my surprise when my call was answered immediately. I found a site with business complaints about your company which I wish I had read before I ever attempted to do business with you. Also, when the first shoes were ordered and I tried to contact you to cancel the shipment of one pair, to date, I have NEVER rec’d a reply to my email, so why do you even offer that means of resolving an issue?

  222. I keep being sent a copy of the kitten cuckoo clock that you are selling in the mail. I have already e-mailed you about this clock because I have tried everything to get it to work. I love the clock but need to know if you want me to keep it if I can return it and if you send me another one you will make sure it is working before you send it back. I do not want to try again to get it working. I have had it for a few months and love it but will not keep it unless it comes back to me working. I mean with batteries in it and I can just hang it on the wall and it will run. If not I regret having to send it back because the items I have received so far I have enjoyed, but this has frustrated me to no end. When I put the batteries in and set it the second hand or

    nothing will work. I have tried other batteries too and it still does not work. Please let me know what you can do and if I do not hear from you soon I will be returning it. Something I do not want to have to do.

    About 4 months ago, I received Songbirds #7 and #8. I did not order them and wanted to return them. I spoke to one of your representatives as to how to properly package them for return. They were packaged appropriately with the proper return labels and sent from the Post Office.
    Since then, I have received invoices regarding payment for #7 after which I replied with a letter explaining the situation.
    I have received about three invoices demanding payment. I have sent about two letters regarding this matter, but they have been disregarded.
    I already have one of each of these and don’t want any more.
    I DO NOT HAVE THESE SONGBIRDS. I am not well and this unnecessary stress is causing great discomfort.
    Please check your records and rectify the situation. It would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin was very helpful, he did say they had been over powered by orders and was short on agents to answer the phones since March, and Monday was the busiest time. Well he did get me squared away and my refund had been sent. The ring I ordered from the Bob Mackie collection’The Diamonesk’ had a large stone, and it was for women with longer fingers than mine; it was huge on me. That was the only problem. I’ve been happy with The Bradford Exchange for years, I’m sorry they failed so many people.Times change.

How long will it take to get it if and when I receive confirmation on my reservation?

On Sept. 17, 2015 I called Bradford Exchange to ask them about a bracelet I bought which is fine but I wanted to add to more beads and two hearts but they said it can’t be done which I can’t understand why. I bought the Mother Heart Bracelet which you only but maxium of 6 on it and I need 8 which I willing to paid for but your company can seem to help me. Now I have to buy a another bracelet with the two beads and two hearts take it off and but it on the orginial bracelet which really is stupid. This will be my last purchased most company try there hardest to help their customer but your company doesn’t. Maybe you should read your comments and try to do better .

  237. I have contacted Bradford Exchange FIVE TIMES to get them to remove my deceased husband from their mailing lists for catalogs and emails. It is ridiculous that a grieving widow has to put up with them ignoring or failing to complete a simple request. HE’s DEAD! As a result, they lost me as a customer as well. I am now reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Some may think that is overreacting; I hope you never have to deal with enormous amount of mail I have to have cancelled as my deceased husband was disabled and lived for reading mail each day.

  238. I wish to commend The Bradford Exchange for excellent service. I ordered a bridal set from them which arrived within one month’s time as it was engraved inside on both rings. After wearing the set for a couple of months, I noticed that one of the stones had come out of the wedding band. I contacted Customer Service and was greeted promptly by a very courteous employee. After I told him the problem, he placed an order to replace the entire bridal set for free. I have just received the replacement after one month’s wait. I have had absolutely no problems dealing with them and would highly recommend them as an excellent place to buy jewelry.

The white on my USMC FLEECE jacket is nasty and looks worn. I hope like HELL this is not the way this company actually handles business.   242. I have over 2 years purchased a train set foe my nephew. I asked the shipments to be stopped nearly a year ago. But Alas, out of nowhere, I receive another shipment that I dont want.
    I was certain that I still owed BE for past ACCEPTEDshipments and during conversation (finally) with Customer Service I would make payment with a debit card. Then I discovered, after a couple months that they were debiting my card every month, which I did not authorize. Contrarily, I asked them a couple times to NOT do that because it caused my checking account to not balance thus causing NSF charges to my account. Each time I was ASSURED it wouldnt happen again but of course it did. I was forced to deactivate that card and get a new one just to stop them from using the card. Im sure I still owe a small amount but I no longer care! If they cannot afford to invoice me perhaps its time to close shop.

  243. Received the USMC sterling silver ring as a gift. Loved it- but it started to come apart after a couple years: black onyx stone loosened in its placeholding, then the metal backing behind it. The onyx and the silver emblem fell out, lost. Called to ask about replacement parts or repair, wasn’t looking for anything free…yet they can’t tell me how to replace these parts of my “heirloom”. Shoddy craftsmenship, shoddy customer service, overpriced disinterest. I’ll go to my local jeweler.

  244. I put an order in 2 months ago for checks & I live in the same state where they are processed!!!!! I went back & forth with them numerous times trying to get my checks, because at this point I had totally run out. They kept making up excuses as to why I didn’t have my checks yet. From we didn’t get a copy of your original check & deposit (which I sent in by mail, fax & e-mail), the order was lost, we received your copies after we already cancelled the order(even though it was sent by fax/e-mail the same day I spoke with a representative)!!!! The very last time I called, it took me most of my hour long break from work to get through the automated system to an actual person who was saying everything possible not to give me the supervisor I asked for & then it took another 20 minutes on hold to get her, I explained to her what was going on & that as a courtesy I felt they should ship me the small order I originally ordered for free. She said she would look into it & put me on hold. Now she said she would ship the order with in 5 – 7 BUSINESS DAYS!!!!! I mean “COME ON! REALLY?” She also said she would e-mail me the invoices, but ignore them? So now I don’t know what I am paying for because we kept going around in circles over the phone, but I accepted because they already had all my info. & my bank would take just as long at this point. THEY DEFINETLY NEED TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER!!!!

A year after we ordered our checks they have debited my checking account (how we paid for our checks) for $137 for more subscriptions that I was in no way alerted to and could be out of $137 as the promised refund has not posted to my account as of yet. I was just charged over $137 to my banking account for some magazine subscriptions that came FREE with our checks we ordered. Here it is over a year later and those amounts hit my checking account!!!! I did not get a letter, an email or a phone call asking if I wanted this. I found this out by looking at my checking account! Just think how coincidental it is that you have purchased checks from a company that you have trusted and then because they have kept your checking account info on file (this was how we paid for our checks by the way) they just go in and charge it up! I can guarantee you that I will socially promote this horrible company to the negative. I hope the CEO’s have to get on foodstamps! On my account it gave a 1-800 number to call and so I called it to demand a full refund immediately if not sooner! I was put into an IVR and could not speak to a human being whatsoever. So pissed off to the highest, I went through their little process and listened to every option and cancelled every subscription they had me down for. and am expecting a full refund the next day as it stated….Pshhhh yeah right. I still have no refund and when I call into customer service yet another non American with a thick non understandable accent tries to assist me. I can tell you this first handed.   261. I ordered a The Strength Of Family Personalized Bracelet for my wife for her birthday. I ordered it a month before her birthday and was given a 3 to 4 weeks for shipping. When no ship dat was listed I waited the 24 hours to find nothing on their website so I sent them a email to be told oh it take 48 to 72 hours for it to update. When there website finally updated it said it would ship on nov 11. Well today was nov 11 and when I checked it today it said dec 11 so this time I called them to find out what was going on to be told oh well the ship dat has been change to jan 6 but that is just the date for it to ship to the engravers not to me it wont ship to me for 4 to 6 weeks after it gets to the engravers. So the bracelet I wanted for her birthday is now not going to be here till feb or march if it even ships then. They have not called or bothered to send me a email or regular mail about any of this I have had to look on line or call them for any information I have received about this. And all the customer service guy could say was well I can cancel your order hell no I don’t want to cancel the order I would like to get my wifes gift.
