We had no trouble getting in touch with a customer service agent via the main customer service number. The automated system gives you four options to choose from, but you can press 0 to bypass these options and move the call directly to customer service. Our agent was more than happy to tell us about the mail delivery program offered by Boston Globe. People from anywhere in the world can subscribe with print papers being sent USPS Priority Mail for Sunday-only subscriptions.

  2. Over the past few months, the shopping ads have been given over to your company and not through the Post Office. Since this change we HAVE NOT RECEIVED THEM!! I am one of the lucky ones that have received them 2x. The entire East Cambridge Ma area has been skipped! I have seen the woman in her grey s.u.v. that pretends to be delivering them! She also comes from N.H. to Ma to not deliver! You pay her to do her job that she does not do! We are all very angry! I am sure if we contact the folks that pay your service to have their ads sent out realize that they are not being delivered, that they will be angry too! Why not give the job to someone in MA that WILL DELIVER THESE TO OUR AREA! East Cambridge Ma is very upset with not receive these, she does get paid for this non service! Would you please let her know, or the next step is to contact ALL THE STORES WHO PAY YOU FOR YOU NON SERVICE! I am speaking on behalf of all the angry folks of EAST CAMBRIDGE MA! We would like a response!

  6. HORRIBLE!!! they have been taking money out for months and never delivering papers! I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office. This is unacceptable.

  7. Michael Cowan wrote an article regarding President Bush. He made it sound as if the Bushes only took from our Vets. So untrue. The Bush family and President Bush have done more for the Vets (quietly) than
    any person I know of. Am canceling our subscription today.

  8. I subscribed to your 30 day free trial for the online Globe. It was read for several days and I decided that as a resident of Florida it was not an appropriate choice. I did not realize I entered into a continuing paid subscription. Please cancel at once and refund the balance of payment to my credit card account. Thank you.

My Globe delivery service of late has been spotty and this Sunday morning I have yet to receive my Globe at 9:30 a.m. Delivery between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. is unacceptable service and this problem needs to be corrected quickly. As a longtime subscriber I am very disappointed in my current delivery service.
    I expect the Globe circulation department to take whatever corrective action is necessary.

  10. I cancelled my Boston Globe home delivery yesterday. We’ve had the paper home delivered for more than 15 years. I’m tired of getting the paper delivered later and later in the morning! We’ve always had our paper by 6:15 AM. I don’t want/need/have time to read the paper if it’s not here by 6:30 AM. It’s apparent
    the Globe customer service “advocates” need an education on how to attract and retain customers. I should have been told they would speak with the area manager who would speak to the driver and if he/she could not meet the demands of the job, they need to MOVE ON! Poor customer service.

    • My response to the latest price increase in home delivery of 12% plus is one of wonder. I have had a delivery record of 100% non delivery within your stated delivery hours. In the last year your paper is becoming a joke content going down and price going up. The Saturday and Monday editions in particular. You will be notified by 2/11/2019, if I intend to discontinue what is becoming a rag not a newspaper. I do not expect an answer to this comment as I do not think the comments are noted or acted upon. Just thought you know if you care what has become of a proud paper.

  12. My newspaper is delivered perhaps every other Sunday. On those Sundays it it not delivered, I contact customer service and ask for a re-delivery. This happens about half the time. I have asked for refunds and those NEVER appear on my statement.

  14. The Globe was supposed to be on our front porch by 6:30 am, as it has for years.

    It is 8:35 am now and still no paper. Second time it has happened in 2 days. What is the problem?

    Please make sure it gets here ASAP, since we are going out for the day by 10 am.

    Also let us know why it has become a problem. Our regular carrier had it on our front porch by 6:30 am for many many years. Is he still doing the delivery or not.

  18. Your new carrier scheme is off to a resoundingly poor start. First the paper was not delivered today (Monday). But the worst PR blunder I think is the ” free Boston Globe coupon”. Starr Market will not take it, CVS will not take it, 7-Eleven will not take it. So I bought one. Just for the kick of it I tried three other establishments that sell the Globe. None of them would honor your “free” coupon. Tell your PR department they need to get on the ball.

  19. I have been on the phone today for at least ~30 minutes trying to connect w/a real live person. Please press 1 to answer my question, press 2 to get to press 3 and press 4 to get press 5. Maddening!!! Have been a subscriber for years. All I want to know if there is a senior discount for renewal subscriptions, or for that matter any subscription!! Doesn’t seem to be on renewal invoice, although on latest letter re: new del’y service my husband noticed line item for just that. Advise.

  20. The transition to a new delivery service was disastorous. No paper delivery for two days and no one avaialable to answer any questions! None of the avenues to reach customer service were responsive. Only recordings indicating service was unavailable or a persistant busy signal.

  21. Sunday Globe arrived soaked. I called & you said you would redeliver – never came.
    Monday Globe did not come.
    Tuesday Globe did not come. Tried calling customer service for delivery issues but number was continuously busy.
    If this is new service, then cancel my subscription.

  25. This is the second day with no paper. Not happy at all with you change of delivery people. Emailed yesterday for another paper to be sent and it wasn’t sent all day. You need to get your act together or I will cancel.

  26. VERY FRUSTRATED with delivery. We are to receive 7 copies of the Boston Globe each day. We have been getting only 3. We have called each day & the automated number transfers us to a customer service rep but actually it hangs up on us!! If we do get “through” we’re on hold for over 20 minutes. When we finally got through we were told each day that the error was corrected, but alas, it was not. When the carrier was here today he still only had 3 newspapers for us.

  29. Long time subscriber. I appreciate you are in transition and there may be glitches. But no paper at all yesterday and its 11 AM and no paper today. The end of year papers are important and full of wrap ups. Just wondering if this was the best time of year to make this switch. Disappointed.

  31. We use to get our paper delivered by 7 am. In the last couple of days it has been late. Today it’s 11am and still no paper. If we can’t get our paper by 7 we no longer wish to receive it.

  32. I have been trying to call customer service about my bill for 3 days and have got nothing but a busy signal! I even called the main switchboard and could not reach customer service.While on hold for 10 minutes I was forced to listen to rap music. If the Globe is to busy to take a customers call maybe they do not need any more customers?

  33. If I can drive in the snow, so can your drivers. Haven’t had a paper for 2 days. Yesterday was understandable, but I should have at least received both of them, a some point, today. My paper is usually here when I get up, at 6:00.
    I don’t have time to read it, later!

    I understand that you have a new delivery company, but a little snow shouldn’t be an excuse for no paper at all.

    When I tried to call in, when I got home today, the wait time was 1 HOUR. Not acceptable!

You have to be kidding me, first I get an e-mail that home delivery would be late on Dec. 28th, I haven’t received the Globe all week, I am buying it at a store in Attleboro and now I get an e-mail that the fiasco should be straightened out in a few weeks. The “genius” at the Globe responsible for this horrific transition ought to fired. How can an institution as large as the Globe be so screwed up. This injustice certainly better be reflected in my monthly billing or I will cancel my subscription. P.S. I found nothing wrong with the previous delivery provider!

    Email or phone to “customer service ” dept . -temporary substitution of accessing newspaper on web site is not acceptable -difficult for elderly who do not easily access internet.
    Quite sure that the Brookline delivery service to certain residences is not interrupted.

I have been a Boston Globe Subscriber for a number of years and I understand the changes that are happening with the delivery services however I didn’t receive a newspaper on Monday the 28th and then on Tuesday I recieved two papers for Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday I did receive a paper but I haven’t subscribed to the afternoon edition in over many years. I have been accustomed to having the newpaperr delivered by no later than six in the morning and on several occassions even earlier than that. This gives me a chance to read it do the crossword before going to work at 6:30. I’ll put up with a couple of more days of late delivery but going forward if the service doesn’t meet my needs I will cancel. I hope the issues with the new delivery service improves as I’m sure I’m not alone with concerns. Thank you.

  42. I’m in Cohasset. Haven’t had a paper in four days. I call & no one answers or get put on hold then disconnected. I have spent about 2 hours (& 30 phone calls!!) trying to get info. What is so hard about a delivery person getting a list of names & addresses, a bunch of papers, & delivering them? I had a paper route when I was a kid & would CALL people if there was a delivery problem. I look outside every day & call every day. Am I EVER going to get delivery?   45. I emailed your customer service department the other day regarding my concern with delivery. I’m glad you fixed the problem. I DIDN”T RECEIVE A PAPER YESTERDAY AND HAVEN’T RECEIVED A PAPER TODAY (JANUARY 1st).   47. I know you have had a lot of complaints about the paper delivery to subscribers door. I know you changed delivery services.
    I just want to tell you the paper has been at my door 5 out of 5 days before I go looking for it. I had special instructions to deliver in the courtyard door at 221-F5 front stairs. This means the delivery person has to get out of their car and walk down a short walk. I have no complaints with the delivery, so far. I also had excellent service with the prior deliver firm.
    I just thought it might be nice to hear something is going as planned.

  49. Very frustrated – have been on hold for 20 minutes with repeated messages that “your readership is important to us” but no real person has yet to come on the phone to help me! Ever since the new delivery service, our Globe home delivery has been terrible – with some days of not receiving papers and the rest of the days with the papers thrown at the front of our driveway where they get trampled by cars going in and out over them, frozen, wet and sopping from the rain – not good! I was calling to report this and request that our paper be delivered in front of our front main doorway (by our mailbox) – placed in front of our main front door please! The roof overhang there will keep the papers from getting wet or frozen. Please make sure that the delivery person DOES NOT LEAVE our papers anywhere in our driveway!!! I would cancel our subscription if this keeps happening (papers thrown in our driveway)_ Please confirm that this message has been received and acted upon.   51. Please tell the person who is delivering our Globe that the paper is supposed to be delivered to our front door. I have spoken to a real person (after a very long wait!) and I know it is in the delivery instructions.
    I’m not sure if we have a regular person on our route as we were in the group that didn’t receive a paper for the 1st 3 days, but whoever is delivering should still know where to leave our paper. I will expect it at our door tomorrow.

  52. I can’t believe you have hung up on me three times before reaching a rep, I am calling about my Sunday delivery. I emailed you requesting that my Sunday paper be delivered to the WALKWAY. However, since my daily paper from another source is not being delivered in that manner, I’m sure the same problem will happen tomorrow. Just when we finally had a delivery person that was wonderful (Sarah Labbe), you go and “Improve” the service. One more reason, along with price increases, to cancel my paper if this cannot be resolved. I don’t want a paper continuously delivered in the street which happened several months ago!

  53. I have a Subscription for Thursday- Sunday Boston Globe Newpaper to be delivered to my home. I have yet to receive a Paper since you change your delivery service. You old service did an outstanding job.
    You online complaint line and phone number for complaint are ridiculious. No one is going to waste there time waiting over an hour to make a complaint. You should have knwn that you could have problems and put the appropriate amunt for Customer Service rep working on the problem.
    When is this gong to be fixed? I dont want to have to go out and buy the Boston Globe at a retailer.

  54. We have not received our paper in one week. I know you are going thru a delivery change but I can’t get thru on the phone at all to customer service. Our address is 24 Sunset Rd Marblehead, Ma 01945 Account # is 65384940. If we don’t get our paper by Monday I guess you should just cancel our membership. I just sent payment to cover thru 1/17/16 . I hope this can be corrected soon. We always had the paper by 5:30 or earlier and this is perfect for our household. Any later and my husband has left for work. I hope this can be resolved

Have been a subscriber for over 30 years and except for the Blizzard of 78 and the few Blackouts when no service was available, I have received a Daily Globe and the Sunday Globe without interruption until this past week when you instituted a new delivery service and since then have received the newspaper once this week – ONCE!!!! and have had to buy one every day!!!
    Whatever your reasons for the change you certainly did not do anything to accommodate your subscribers. I like my daily Globe but have to reconsider
    if something that should be so easy turns into a nightmare

  56. You are about to lose many long-term subscribers because of poor handling by the new delivery service. Many friends and relatives have not received their papers -Sharon, Stoughton, Dover, Newton. One friend reports ONE paper delivered to an entire condo building in Stoughton. We were all so pleased with our previous delivery people. Why change? It wasn’t broke!!
    I’ve given you this entire week. If no improvement, I may have to cancel my 11 year old subscription. Credit for undelivered papers is not the answer. Get rid of these people!

  57. For the last week we have not received the Boston Globe. We’ve been subscribing for almost 20 years and this has never happened before. The Boston Globe sent us two coupons to get a Free Globe but no one will take them so this whole week I’ve had to buy the Boston Globe with money that we’ve already paid you since we sent your bill with a check to you last week. If I had known what was going to happen I would never have sent the check. Right now I’m paying for nothing. This is the worst system I’ve ever encountered for newspaper delivery == No Delivery.   58. I have not received my Sunday Globe in a month, and this new system is even worse. Now I cannot even get a credit. This is a complaint I have heard from so many subscribers. Phone is always busy; live chat is not accessible; online credit is not available.
    Perhaps the Globe Spotlight team should shine its light on the Globe itself.
    How many subscribers are being charged for papers never delivered? Certainly this is not an issue limited to me and my circle of friends.

  59. Day 6. No newspaper delivered .Tired of paying full price for daily paper. Cannot reach customer service by phone. Always get hang up. Seems like some homes in town get paper others don’t. Strange but boston tv stations are not reporting this on the news.

  60. It makes no sense when the staff at the Boston Globe go out of their way to deliver the Sunday paper to keep the customers happy ,,, AND I STILL DID’NT GET MY PAPER !!! My neighbor across the street GOT HER PAPER ,, make sense of this… Credit my account and if this continues I will pull my subscription and encourage my friends and family to cancel theirs.

  61. Paper still not at our front door. Do not want it at the end of the driveway. Instructions are very clear FRONT DOOR. Should I feel fortuanate that we have actually received a few papers? Isn’t that what delivery is supposed to be? Hoping the new agency can get their act together. I have been trying to reach you by phone for 2 days and either the mail box is full, the phone prompts don’t work or I am on endless hold. I am trying to get a credit for non delivery of our Sunday paper.     No Boston Globe delivery, no opinions or columns, no sports, no retail and markets ads, and on and on! Is this The Globe’s “improved” version of the West Coast Delivery Service? If the previous delivery service is still available, resign them up! That “old system” did work. Delivery was dependable, and we loyal Boston Globe customers never had to put up with a fiasco like this. I feel better…

  69. s a long time customer of the Boston Globe, I am appalled at your management’s lack of consideration and deplorable service. The Boston Globe has been missing from my front door more than 8x’s over the past weeks. I am unable to connect to a person, your phone numbers are jammed and you have inadequate staff to assist customers.
    As a 90-year old I cannot be rummaging through the shrubs to locate my paper, oh, wait, it wasn’t there! My previous carrier ALWAYS had the newspaper on the porch, which is 13 steps from the sidewalk. I walked down the steps, looked on the sidewalk, oh, wait, it wasn’t there either. With the previous delivery service I was never lacking a newspaper at my front door. Throughout last winters worst conditions, the newspaper was delivered everyday accept for two days! And your new carrier cannot deliver in good weather.
    I expect to have a written response with answers to my questions: What was the reason for making the change in carriers? Did they consider that all the employees of the previous company have lost their jobs? What is managements plan to rectify this situation, and how long will it take to have the system working again? When can I expect to receive a credit for lack of service?
    As the digital era is taking a major leap over the written word, with advertising and subscriptions falling off, what were you thinking? Or better yet, why weren’t you thinking?

As a long time subscriber to the globe (32 years) I want you to give our paper route back to the old delivery person.   75. I live at 60Gibson St in Dorchester–zip 02122. I suspended my paper over the holidays and asked that delivery be resumed on Monday , Jan 3. Before leaving I checked to make sure delivery instructions were correct–I live in a converted school and the main entrance to the building is off the parking lot/former play ground in the back of the building.–I was assured the instruction were there.
    I find it difficult to believe that the Globe has delivery troubles in Dorchester, thus assume that the delivery problem is due to the instructions not being handed on.
    Am I right? or does the globe have delivery problems in Dorchester–About a mile from the plant???-
    I am frustrated–to say the least and have not found the efforts to reach you easy. I suspect this is another hole. Prove me wrong and tell me when I might see a newspaper.

  83. Once again, we received no paper. If it’s true that you’ve reconnected with your old distributor, why then isn’t the paper being delivered? We know that our delivery person is bringing the New York Times. Why can’t he bring the Globe as well? There is something so seriously wrong here that I don’t know that the Globe will ever recover. We’ve been subscribers for over 30 years, but our patience is wearing thin. And we’ve become accustomed to reading the Times in the morning instead of the Globe. With the Globe’s recent delivery problems for print subscribers, to open my credit card statement and see full charges for the paper feels at best insensitive to what the customer has experienced in the last weeks and at worst just plain wrong. Why should customers pony up for service they do not receive? The Globe’s good will in rebating a small portion of this month’s subscription charges might go a long way toward encouraging subscribers to retain their subscriptions.

Today, Saturday, 1/09/16, your delivery person threw all of the morning papers out of the window of his auto, a red compact car driven by an African-American man without wrapping them in plastic sleeves.     The “Old” carrier left our papers at our condo door. The “New” carrier now only leaves them at the entrance by the mail boxes where non-subscribers can help themselves. I call your very unsatisfying customer service (?) number every day to report an undelivered paper. This situation is very unacceptable. Certainly in today’s world it should not take MONTHS to correct the problem. Just fire the new agency. They aren’t doing the job. Rehire the former carriers (and treat them better). My former delivery man was awesome! The paper was delivered on time and directly to my back stairs as we are both handicapped. I am considering cancelling my subscription but I can’t get through to necessary person on the phone. (Surprise!). I think it’s a crazy way to run a business. This problem should be resolved by now. How difficult is it to deliver a newspaper?

This is a total disgrace that for 3 weeks we have not be able to get the paper consistent like we did before and not only that for the last two days it was left at the bottom of the driveway instead on the front stoop so you can opent the door and just grab it.   103. Since the Boston Globe hired a new delivery carrier on Dec. 28, 2015, I have only received one newspaper. On Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, a silver car drove up my street, its driver looked all around, and then put a Boston Globe on my porch. That is the only newspaper I have received as of today, Monday, Jan. 11, 2016. I am very frustrated because I always read the paper in the morning, but now I have none. Trying to report a missing paper by phone has only worked about 2 times. Usually, after making the appropriate menu selections, all I get is a busy signal, not a representative who can record my missed paper and credit my account. I think that the new carrier should be fired and billed for all the money that the Boston Globe is losing because of their abdominal delivery record. At this point, I have no idea when I will ever get another Boston Globe delivered. I hope that the Boston Globe does not go out of business because of all this turmoil.

This morning a partial (food section, in plastic wrap) was again on grass at edge of street. Both my wife and I are 85.     The advertising section is the worst. Buisness’s advertise sales for last week expired yesterday are in this weeks paper. Looks like the only winner here is the weeks paper owner. Didn’t have to produce half the paper.

We have reported 3 non-delivery issues just this past week and didn’t bother calling your subscription line before that as we wanted to give the new delivery service a chance to iron out their issues. We really miss our dependable delivery person who came up the driveway each day and left our paper on the walkway to the front door. Now we are lucky to get a paper by the street or somewhere on the lawn. What is most disturbing is that we haven’t received a single Sunday Globe since 2015.     On January 7th, my home delivery service came to an abrupt halt although my neighbor’s did not. For the past 25+ years we shared the same delivery service although they receive a different paper. All I wan to know is when, or if, delivery service will ever return to my home. The courtesy of an answer would be greatly appreciated. I need to make other arrangements if I am no longer going to be able to receive home delivery. Maybe I need to subscribe to the New York Times like my neighbor across the street in order to get a paper delivered! Just let me know if this problem will be solved one way or another.

    Honestly, Management Team, how much money did you think you would save in hiring a distribution co. (ACI) with little local presence, and a firm philosophy of shaving employee rates? (oh – sorry – “independent contractors”….I meant to say). The Metrowest Daily News arrives on my doorstep every day – and while it’s content is somewhat lacking – it IS dependable.

I received an invoice which is incorrect as far as what I owe. I tried customer service phone, but was on hold for 45 min. and no one ever answered. Very frustrating to not be able to get answers. I want to bring my account up to date, but cannot get anyone to tell me what I owe. I really want to get my Sunday Globe and have not received it for four weeks.   140. I have not received my Boston Globe newspaper the whole month of January. I have called every weekend to report this. My account no. is 695902. I received a bill that is due on 2/4/16. I will not pay this. I am returning it to you. I don’t know what is going on, but this bill indicates you crediting my account for only two papers, when it should be ten days (the whole month of January). I receive the paper on Sat & Sun only. What is going to be done about this? If I don’t receive my paper this weekend I will be cancelling my subscription.

Chat has no available agents and no live person answers the phone. Its just a recording. My requests for credit are not keeping pace with the missed deliveries.

  151. How I long to have my old carrier back! He lived in the next town and I always had my paper on the porch long before I got up in the morning. If I left for the airport at 4:30am, my Globe was there! Now I’m surprised to see it in the morning. We were on a roll for a couple weeks, it came late on Sunday but at least it came! No paper today, so I went out and bought one, having run out of “free” coupons. As I started to read it, I discovered the copy I picked up was missing the Food section! How long will it take to get back on track?

    Last year with all the snow and bad weather our paper was still always delivered.
    I think the new delivery contract should be looked at for what it is…inadequate and not very customer friendly.

  154. Terrible experience with customer service. Had put a hold on my paper Feb. 9-13.
    I arrived home to a pile of papers–all of which were supposed to be on hold. I called the customer service telephone number and spoke to Keith who informed me that since the papers were delivered he could not give me a 5-day extension–this made no sense at all since I had followed procedure and placed a hold on the delivery. When I asked to speak to a supervisor he refused
    to transfer advising that he was fully trained to deal with these issues.

    Am trying to be patient with the Globe while it works out the issues with the new delivery carrier but am not happy today. I want my 5-day extension.

  155. I am trying really hard to be patient with the Globe’s delivery service, or should I say the lack of it. I have not received my home delivered newspaper for the past three days. I have tried to connect with a human being an the phone and online, but have been unsuccessful. I now understand why so many of your subscribers have been canceling their subscriptions. I do not wish to do this because I love reading my morning paper but you are really testing my loyalty. Whatever the problem is, your current business model is a complete failure. Unless you can somehow rectify this issue I may have to join the many in their exodus from subscribing to your paper. You folks need to get your act together and FAST.   161. Once again my paper was not placed on my porch as directed. It was left at the end of my driveway in the street. This has been going on (when the paper is delivered) for over two months now. I have been calling in just about every day. I was told this will be corrected, but it never is. I don’t think I should have to pay for poor service, therefore I am requesting that a credit be issued for this paper and every other paper that was not delivered where the instructions indicated it should.

Each day that we do not get a paper we should be extending our paid-thru date so I cannot imagine it was shut off due to payment. We should be paid thru 3/17/16 now. She would not allow me to interrupt her her when I didn’t understand what she had said and just continued not to listen to me ask I tried to find out about my missing newspaper and the misinformation she gave me about my new subscription. Her attitude was horrible. I think as a new customer who had some legitimate issues getting my subscription corrected that I deserve to be treated with some sort of respect. This rep. made me feel like I made a big mistake doing business with your paper and I will most likely be canceling my subscription because of her.

    Can you assure us that we’ll continue to receive our paper each morning?

In the past, I’ve had untold numbers of complaints about delivery i.e. failure to deliver, placement of paper by roadside when instructions to place on walk adjacent to my house (I’m handicapped), etc. Check my record to confirm same. Your billing department is quick to post my monthly payment, however. It is not surprising that you are losing loyal,customers of long-standing.

As of today, the paper was not only not on my front porch BUT it was NOT delivered T all.   188. I have been at least a 25 yr subscriber to 7 day a week newspaper delivery.
    Last January I was introduced to a new delivery person by his heartfelt enclosure in the white envelope;. whan he is unable to work he depends on TIPS! Yes, I sent him a 25.00$ tip and asked if he could do his best to deliver my paper onto my porch; porch wide open, and in the winter no cars out front to prevent that delivery. Well, maybe once in the past 3 months has my paper been on the [porch; more usually on the walk or the side of the house; or buried in 4 inches of snow.
    Last year I fell, hurting myself significantly trying to get my paper. I now have trepidation maneuvering the steps and walk in the winter.
    This past Sunday, Feb., 26; my paper was incomplete; no Magazine section. I called customer service before 9;30 a.m. and immediately heard a person would be 10 minutes away; I opted for the menu; expressed my need for a complete paper which would be re-delivered between the window of 10;00 – 2:00 pm.
    Guess what? I never got a redelivery; BIG SURPRISE FROM GLOBE HOME DELIVERY!
    So at about 500.00$ a year I expect better.
    My expectations are better than my service. I realize weather is an exception.
    But, I must say for the money, your service is not worth it. And please don’t suggest I read the paper on line; HATE IT

Yesterday (9/3) it was left on the walkway on the other side of my building and when it was found that afternoon water had seeped into the plastic bag so that it had to be dried out. I am too old to be able to leave my apartment to hunt for my paper, especially in bad weather. I hope this delivery was an aberration. ( I reported this as a missed delivery by phone late yesterday morning which I thought it was.)

Then I tried going on line as directed by the phone cues and the site could not be reached. I then tried to get in touch with the Lynnway newspaper delivery and # is no longer in service. And, what us the purpose of getting today’s paper tomorrow? We like the printed version of the Globe and do not want to read on line. A few weeks ago we missed a divert and today we are clearly not going to get a copy. Would like to have two days credited to my account. I keep getting the same info each week about production issues and being told that the paper would be delivered eventually. This is not a way to run any business. What is happening? I bet the stores have papers. Why aren’t you taking care of long term customers (especially since I paid for year in advance}.
    I am also a senior citizen which adds insult to injury. Please respond in some manner that is not the stock answer. Also, trying to call is a joke – last week I was on hold for one hour and this week you keep hanging up on me.

  214. The Globe takes first prize in incompetence. They take your subscriptions without a wait. Try to get a person to talk to when you have a problem, busy signals, 19-25 minute wait and the problem never gets solved. Case in point: Last Tuesday I subscribed to a one week subscription and then just the Sunday paper from then on Wednesday comes, but no paper. I try to call but your 1-888 number does not recognize my phone vs my house number. They “fix” it, no problem. Thursday comes, no paper. After a 19 minute wait they assure me it is on route. Finally about 11, the paper comes. Today is Monday comes, no paper, phone number doesn’t recognize me phone number vs house number. I’ve been holding for 9 minutes and 45 seconds. This is not worth the trouble. I will not pay for a weeks worth of paper delivery on my charge card. Hopefully the paper will
    deliver every Sunday, but all bets are off. The Globe has to fix its problems, or fold the tent. I heard I recording yesterday that said, ” Pardon us as we have gone to a new publishing company. Problems should be resolved shortly, as
    soon as January first. According to my calculations that’s months away–or nobody is in charge of changing the tape. What I perfect way how to NOT run a business.

  215. I am not pleased with the delivery service and would like a refund on my one year sunday delivery cost of $139.99 paid on Aug 22, 2017.
    I expressed that I would subscribe only if the paper was delivered to the front of my garage because I have a very long driveway.
    On Sept 3rd my paper was delivered at the top of my driveway and I did not find it until 12 noon.

    Yesterday, Sept 10th I did not see y globe anywhere all morning. I went out this morning at 930am and it was at the end of my driveway.

    Please contact me with a solution. I believe I would like to cancel my subscription and receive a refund on the unused portion.

I called the Globe to report The Food Section missing on 9/13, After explaining that there was a printing problem, he proceeded to encourage me to use the epaper part of my subscription. He stayed with me and went step-by- step through the process until I was fully comfortable . He was patient and caring throughout. He then showed me ways to enjoy the Globe’s extra subscriber service by using Manage Your Account, which I had always avoided. When I no longer had any questions, he kindly gave me his extension in case I had follow-up questions. I have been a Globe subscriber for 12 years and found his customer service the best I have ever had.

  219. I have been a customer of the Globe for 45 years. I do not have any problem receiving the newspapers but my gripe is with the quality of the sports section.
    The paper arrives at five every morning but does not include baseball scores
    and does not include the high school football results on Saturday mornings.
    This is poor for a quality newspaper. I feel that I have been let down.

  221. i’ve been very unhappy with the globe since your switch of publication/ delivery location this summer. in natick, we must be receiving one of the first editions. i read primarily the sports page. since your change, very rarely are there any scores from games the night before. for the past two saturday editions, there has not been one high school football score. i would like to talk to someone about what options i might have because for the $75 (w tip)/ month it is costing me, it certainly isn’t worth it.

  222. Today, I did not receive my Sunday Globe. I called to report this. I got your automated answering system and punched in the required info. to report a missed delivery. This was at 9:40 a.m. this morning (Sept.24)….the automated response told me a another paper would be delivered to me. It is now 4 p.m. so I assume I will not be getting a delivery. My account is paid – my last check to you was sent on 9/20 so there should be no reason for non-delivery. Therefore, I expect my account to be credited for this non-delivery.

  223. Since the Boston Globe has gone to its new printing plant, the delivery of my paper has not been up to its usual standard. So far I have missed two Sunday papers, 4 or 5 regular papers and about 6 papers with missing sections. I’m not sure if it is the printing problems or a deliverer problem but how about this, give me credit off my bill for the missed papers. My account number is 364112. If it’s a deliverer problem he needs to buck up and any gratuity will not be forthcoming. Thanks for your attention in this matter.

I have a subscription for the paper on Saturday and Sunday. For two weeks I have not received either paper. I would really appreciate some attention to this matter as I really enjoy the hardcopies.   229. I called customer service this morning because I did not receive the Regional South section of the Sunday Globe for 12/17/17. The operator was rather snippy and did not seem to want to believe me. I told her I got a Metro section, but no South section. I live in Quincy, MA, and always get the South section. I had to say good-bye to customer service, as I was getting nowhere. I told the person that I look forward to getting the South section, which is tailored to my area.

  230. My paper is always late. If it is early, it is still an hour later than your promised delivery time. Yesterday, the day after the storm we got it around 8:00 AM. Not too bad. Today, two days after the storm, we still have not received it, at 10:30 AM. Twice in the last two months we never received the paper.

    Also, I thought I changed my email address with the Globe so I would get the electronic edition. I still don’t get the electronic version but I get you advertisements! How can I get the electronic version without signing in every morning?

    I tried to call in this morning but all I got was some person, probably n India, trying to get my credit card number so I MIGHT get a $100 voucher.

    All I want is some customer service and my paper close to being on time!

  236. I’m fed up. Have been receiving Boston Globe newsletters by email. I never signed up for them. When I click ‘unsubscribe’, it says I’ve been unsubscribed. However I continue to receive the emails. When I click on the ‘manage account’ link and enter my email address it states it does not exist. What kind of a scam are you running? You have my email address in the comment information. I want these emails terminated immediately. Reading through the rest of these comments makes me think Boston should be embarrassed to have this corporation use the name of the city.

    • When calling to report a missed delivery, the caller is asked if he wishes to lodge a complaint. It is not clear what the import of the question is. I can only assume that by doing so the caller is asking that a black mark be assigned to the deliverer of the paper.
      I, for one, do not wish to ascribe to this person anything derogatory about his/her duties as an employee. Except for a few occasions, the deliverer has always been efficient, cooperative, and trustworthy.
      In short, when I call to report a missed or unusually late delivery, it is not to complain but simply to have someone else deliver the paper as soon as possible. Stuff happens. I believe the option to complain should be included among the reasons for the call rathe than as a separate issue.

  240. I am once again not getting my home delivery of my newspaper. You need to tell the delivery people to stop relying on GPS and verify the address by looking at the street name outside my home. This took weeks to resolve in past months. We have 2 homes diagonally across the street from each other. One is on Stanbro St 02136 and one is on Clifford Street 02136. GPS will tell you that you have arrived, when you are that close. We both are number 26. However, I am 26 Clifford St and the other corner house is facing 26 Stanbro St. Even the re-delivery person failed to get it right. I need multiple credits and fully expect this will be corrected today so that I receive both today’s paper and Sunday’s paper. They, thus far, have missed delivery the past 3 days, with no re-delivery. Please send the manager out to investigate. I will not be home until 6 PM tonight

I talked to a customer service representative, but she is of little help, stating that we will get credit for the non-delivery and there is not much she can do and that there is no contact to call at the distribution center. She also stated that we will not get a late redelivery because we are not in the route for this?!You have to fix this as this happens too often and there seems to be no consequence for the deliverer. Plus we do not appreciate that in spite of this unacceptable service, the deliverer regularly leaves us envelops begging for tips. How can you not be able to improve on this or do you even care?

  252. For the last few years, the Boston Globe has not been delivered anywhere near the time you promise and it’s getting worse. For example, today (Sunday Sept 16) the paper was delivered at 9:10 AM, and yesterday’s (Saturday’s) paper was delivered after 8:30 AM. This is typical. I have called several times to complain over the last few months but nothing changes.
    ALSO, there are only two fliers in the paper that I find useful: the one from Walgreens and the one from CVS. Today I got neither of them. I went over to a store that sells the Globe and looked at one of their copies and it contained both of these fliers. I am entitled to a complete paper.
    If because you can’t find people to deliver or for whatever reason you are not able to deliver the Saturday and Sunday Globes by 8 AM, PLEASE LET ME KNOW and I will plan accordingly. But stop promising things if you can’t do them.
    I am a newspaper devotee, but I’m coming to the end of my patience.

I live in Nashville. I already subscribe to 3 major news sites. I can’t subscribe to every new site on the planet! How can you do this in the middle of an article?   260. I’m a long time subscriber to the Boston Globe. For months, starting last April, I’ve been complaining about late delivery of the Sunday Boston Globe. At first, the paper was coming between 8:30 and 9 AM, in spite of the Globe’s promise to have Sunday papers delivered by 8 AM. Then it started coming after 9 AM, reaching a low point on November 25 when it was delivered at 9:45 AM. Today (Dec 2), when I called at 10AM to say my paper hadn’t been delivered, your automatic answering system said that the paper would not be delivered at all today. I called a friend in town who has a different carrier to see if this was a universal problem and she had received her paper before 8 AM
    Each time I call, I’m told that the problem will be corrected, but it only gets worse. I’m tired of empty promises. If you can’t find reliable people to deliver papers on my route at the promised time, TELL ME THAT YOU CAN’T DO IT and I will cancel my subscription and not spend my Sunday mornings wondering when my paper will come or if it will come at all.

    For the past week my daily and Sunday newspaper has been tossed in my driveway instead of put in the container under my mailbox for that purpose.
    The first time I ran over it in the dark. Today it was soaked with rain.
    Please correct this and have carrier put the Globe in the container and call me back to confirm your resolution of this unsatisfactory delivery service.

  272. I have been trying to resolve a delivery issue fist reported on Dec 19, 2019, almost 3 weeks now. My simple request is to have the paper placed inside the front door. My parents have been subscribers for 35+ years and are now in there 80’s. We live in the Northeast and the Winters can be harsh. Now that I requested this, each day is a scavenger hunt to find the paper, it has been found in the bushes, in a snow bank, on the sidewalk, under a car, you get the picture. Each day I go down and look for it for them. I have called Customer Support each day to report this. Standard response is it has been escalated, you will receive either a phone call back or an email within 24 hours, i have never received either, and still each day is a scavenger hunt. Is there anyone out there that can help me with my issue, Customer support, escalation and mgmt is not working and/or helping?? Another note, this delivery person has no problem sending them envelopes so that they can forward his tip money directly to his house, with they continue to do, tipping $100+ each year!! Yes, I know his name.
