Boscov’s is a retail store with locations in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware. The store is similar to Walmart, Kmart or Target in size and merchandise distribution, but not in popularity as there are a fraction of the total store locations compared to the big box retailers.

We were not happy at all to find out the Boscov’s customer service phone numbers were listed in a PDF document, not online. When we clicked the button to show the customer service numbers the document was automatically downloaded to our computer. That is a bad business practice as the consumer has no idea what is in the document. Businesses should always ask permission for starting a download.

Our Experience

Connecting with a live agent was easy and simple. There was little wait time. In fact, we were speaking with a live agent in less than 2 minutes. When the agent answered the call, we wanted to know if the customer service department could provide information relating to returning products, especially warranty returns. The agent explained the process in detail as well as provided a link to the FAQs on the main website.

  1. I perchaced a couch at your Scranton store in dec then the recliner
    Broke u quickly got someone out to look at it on dec 31 then I was told 4-6 weeks for
    Part now is march 17 and still have heard nothing back

My wife purchased a Patio Set along with Umbrella and base on May 22nd for delivery.We did take the Umbrella and base and were told they had the set was in stock but couldn’t be delivered until after Memorial Day.Having not heard anything as of today June 3rd my wife called to see what was going on.She was told the set was no longer in store stock and the earliest we could get it is Friday June 7th.Prior to working and retireing from State Law Enforcement,I was a manager with Two Guys Dept stores and understand the problems that come up in retail.I know we tried to keep our customers abreast of the status of their purchase.I don’t know how long we would have had to wait if we didn’t call to check?

  3. I had never used Boscov’s online services – and now never will again. I ordered some curtains on sale – they didn’t work for what I needed so I returned them to my local store.

    I ended up getting credit for the curtains but was still charge $10.95 for shipping – which was practically a third of what I paid for the product. My “sale” curtains ended up costing me money for something I don’t even have. Lesson learned: I will make sure I use online services that offer free shipping or cover shipping if you make a return.

  4. I ordered a three piece couch with 2 automatic recliners the recliners worked for about 2 weeks. Received couch Oct 1 recliner stopped working Oct. 14 called custmer service and repairman came said there was a short in automatic buttons where cup holders are and I needed new wiring. Cups were left torn apart and after calling several times I’m still getting the run around about when I will get this done. I made the mistake of paying off this couch $2499.00 instead of leaving it on my Boscov card. I will never, never make another furniture purchase from Boscovs again and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired by not getting back to me with updated information on status of repair. I had to keep calling them for infomation.

  5. I love Boscov’s! I find everything I need at great prices. Most of the help is outstanding, however as in all retail there are always those few that should not be salespersons or have anything to do with the public. I do want to commend one employee who went out of her way to help me. This occurred at the Clearview Mall in Butler, PA. On 10/22/2014 I found a pair of slacks that I just loved but they did not have the colors I wanted in my size. I went on line but could not find what I was looking for, so I asked the salesperson in the Misses Dept. if there was any way she could get them for me. This women had the patience of a saint and went above and beyond by calling other stores and she found exactly what I was looking for and had them shipped to my home. This sales associate deserves special recognition, her name was Connie and it was a pleasure shopping with her. I could only hope that Boscov could use her as an example to their other employees!

  6. Customer service experience was outstanding. Representative, Rachel was very helpful and professional. In today’s world, I firmly believe that great customer service needs to be recognized and Boscov’s is to be congratulated. My issue was resolved easily.
