Contacting AutoZone Customer Service Center

AutoZone is an automotive company that specializes in parts, tools and accessories. You can visit one of the many physical stores or order online and have the items shipped to your home or local AutoZone. AutoZone does not offer services to the customer, so customer service issues are less frequent than they are in the service industry. There are still customers who feel they’ve received poor customer service, poor products or the exact opposite and those people need contact information for the AutoZone customer service department.

to leave a comment about your customer service experience.

Contact Info

The contact information provided for AutoZone customer service is limited, at first glance. We easily found a contact form, but the phone number, mailing address and customer service email were not as simple to find. After sending the customer service department an email through the contact page, we were taken to a different page will all the information we needed.

Phone Contact Numbers

While the AutoZone customer service phone number was simple enough to find, there are no customer service center hours listed on the AutoZone website. The department may be open 24 hours or it could be a 9-5 type of business. We called customer service and asked the department hours. The AutoZone customer service department accepts calls until 10 P.M. (CST) Monday to Friday. There are no weekend hours.

Official Website

AutoZone operates an official website http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ for the purpose of customer service and product orders. The website is quite cluttered with products, so finding contact information can be a bit difficult. However, at the bottom of the page you’ll find all the contact information you need and links to the AutoZone Facebook and Twitter pages.

Customer Service Email

While we were still unable to find a customer service email address, we were able to find a list of contact forms based on the question you’re asking. We used the general customer service contact form to ask if there was a dedicated email address for product questions. We’ll update the response details when AutoZone customer service gets back with us.

Our Experience

We were able to get through to the customer service department in less than 40 seconds using the AutoZone headquarters phone number. We simply dialed, pressed 1 for English and 9 for customer service. The agent answered and immediately gave us the local regional manager’s name so we could contact him with our concern. She did not try to hassle us into telling her the problem, which was a welcome relief. This was one of the simplest and fastest customer service calls we’ve made.

  1. I can in for a battery core drop off and I was in the store not being helped. This continued for 15 minutes before I was asked any questions.

  2. Today i went in to the AutoZone location on El Cajon Blvd ,San Diego. I was looking for someone to read a code on my 02 Jeep Wrangler as I was showing a check engine light. I suspected that one of my O2 sensors was gone but needed the code to identify which one. Mr. Brad Miller, service Rep dealt with my request in a very professional and respectful manner, explaining that he could not do this as a result of state regulation, but did refer me to a trusted service center nearby who would scan the code for free and thus get the correct part identified. Brad could have just sold me parts and let me deal with the code issues myself. as we are travelling from Canada I am very appreciative of this kind of integrity and customer service, it seems to be a special commodity which is rare and hard to find when your on the road.
    the service center recommended dealt with us in an equally professional manner identifying the problem and installing the required parts and sending us on our way.
    Brad should be commended for his service to us with our sincere thanks for a job well done.

  4. I am 74 years old man and I have a friend who is an 84 yrs old lady. She called today about 1:00pm and said her car would not start at her home so I went by and I did get it started and told her we needed to have the battery checked. We drove to the Auto Zone store on Park St in Baytown, Tx. The salesclerk whose name was Kevin ask if he could help. I told Kevin the situation and he suggested that he would check the battery and see if that was the problem and the battery was bad.
    We went back into the store and he was a great help in helping my friend pick the battery that fit her car. Kevin informed my friend there was core charge of $l5.00 and when she brought back the old battery she would receive the l5.00 refund for the core charge. In that I am not a very good mechanic I asked Kevin if we could just put the new battery in the car on the parking lot and leave the old battery at Auto Zone. There was lots of room in the parking lot so he said sure. After a while Kevin could see I was have a little trouble getting the new battery in place so he came out and said let see if we can work this out together. From that moment on I was so very impressed with this young man for taking care of his customer from start to finish. I thought this is why I have been doing business with Auto Zone for all these years because they do practice what they preach. THEY REALLY DO CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. Auto Zone Many thanks for hiring employees like Kevin who really does believe the customer does comes FIRST. THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF BAYTOWN, TX. AND ALLOW ME TO POST THIS COMMENT.

  7. I went to autozone this evening. Located in Santa Maria on southbroad way
    Right next to Burger king. I needed long list of parts and as soon as a step
    Through the door I was greeded so quickly and nicely. I needed about everything
    For my price of junk I got, I waited about five min for parts and I got everything
    I needed and I was blown away on such great enjoyable customer service I got there.
    They were so friendly. I was helped by young lady so was very sweet, patient and got everything I needed in a short time and I enjoyed her help. Just overall wonderful! The gentleman who assisted me was also very nice. Thank you Evon and Roberto !

  8. As large as this company is, you’d think they would have enough people who could not only answer calls, but answer questions. I sent in a credit application months ago. No response whatsoever. Tried calling today, customer service can’t help. Credit Department mail box is full. If you can’t get through to their top secret credit department, I wonder how they answer questions are the individual locations?

  9. Went into the Garners Ferry store in Columbia South Carolina to check on my wife only to find the worker Demetrius trying to hit on her not knowing her husband was waiting in the car sad an never got the help she went in for.

  10. Was broke down at truck stop in sc water pump locked up. Called them up they delivered it to me at truck stop was going in about a hour will never shop anywhere else. Thank you.

  11. I was a customer at the AutoZone on Zaragoza and Saul Kleinfeld in El Paso, TX on 08/25/15 and a young man named Ruben H. went above and beyond his job duties and I received excellent customer service when he helped me out and went under the bumper of my vehicle when I asked because I have carpal tunnel. He inserted some bumper plugs for me. His shirt was oily after and I felt terrible. He just laughed! Amazing employee! Way to go young man!

  12. I saw the manager of the Pell City,All call O’Reillys and call their employees stupid because their part numbers wasn’t the same as hers and they rarely are. To top it off she then called O’Reillys corporate office and made a complaint on them when this woman was clearly in the wrong. Because of her actions alone I will never shop with that company again nor will I encourage anyone to work for them. I do not want anyone I know to be taught to act in that manner especially in management.

  13. On 10/17/2015 I made a purchase at you MLK store (store #0936, transaction #472978). I was actually visiting family and while there, I was informed by a family member who is a mechanic that I need to do some work on my vehicle. After deciding to do the repairs, we went to purchase the parts. After more detailed inspection, we realized that the brake rotors were not needed. We needed other parts so I made several trips to AutoZone to pick them up throughout the weekend. At 1615 on 10/18/2015 (store #0975, reference #0975-200363-151018-4), we went to the store on 166 in Atlanta, to pick up some vacuum lines because the MLK store only had one and I needed another one. Had the parts that I need to return with me; I had the 2 incorrect parts (fuel filter & PCV valve) and the brake rotors which I did not need. I was told that I have to take they would offer me a refund for the filter and the valve but I had to take the rotors back to the MLK store. This was very inconvenient, senseless and a total unnecessary waste of my time. I was going to just do it once returned to Florida but as it turns out, I needed additional parts so we headed back to the MLK store. We got to the store at around 1825 on 10/18/2015. We stepped up to the counter and handed the receipt to Nicholas S. He looked at the receipt and noticed that we initially paid using debit. He said “we can’t do returns right now we don’t got no cash to give you back right now), he then just left the counter and went outside to do someone’s check engine light. Everyone is just pretty much ignoring us at this point. We already had picked up other items that we needed. The manager was not very managerial, helpful or professional in my opinion. The difference in price for the items we intended to purchase and the total refund would have only been $28. Anyway, we needed most of the stuff, so we put the some of the items back (due to the dissatisfaction and irritation at this point) and proceeded to purchase the things we really needed (transaction #474602). At this point I said to Nicholas S “it makes no sense to me that you guys close at 9pm and its 6:47 now an you have no cash to pay us” he yelled at me saying “ you want us to give you the cash and we have none for other customers transactions”. I felt intimidated and infuriated. I have spent a lot of money at your organization and this was just totally unacceptable customer service. I am thinking that this was just because I was in a pre-dominantly minority neighborhood location since I have never had this sort of treatment before. I don’t know what it is but I think maybe some of your policies and procedures need to be reviewed. This was a really sad situation. I did not know you guys were in the business of scaring your customers.

  15. AutoZone Failed Me – Where is the Customer Loyalty? Apparently Customer Loyalty is a One Way Street at AutoZone

    Loyal Customer;
    I have been an AutoZone customer, almost exclusively, for more than three decades, beginning when the stores were named Auto Shack. Until mid-2015, I spent 90% of my auto repair dollars at AutoZone, approximately $200 dollars a month consistently for decades. I was proud to carry in my wallet one of the first AutoZone Rewards cards issued, I estimate that referrals from me to AutoZone generate another $300 per month in revenue for AutoZone. Why do I spend that much money on auto repair? My wife and I own seven cars and trucks for us and the kids. I do auto repair work as part of our Church’s ministry that helps the poor. My boys and I train our friends to do their own maintenance and repair on their vehicles.

    What Happened? In July 2015, while I was away on travel, my wife was stranded in the middle of busy intersection because a recently installed AutoZone Oil Line manufactured by Dorman failed suddenly draining the oil from the engine in seconds resulting in catastrophic engine failure. Fortunately Good Samaritans helped her out of the intersection and assisted her until AAA could tow her Blazer to our home.

    Why did it happen? The oil line obviously had a defect. The rubber hose split beginning under the clamp. My preliminary analysis points to a likely burr on the tube that the hose was clamped to creating a latent Out of the Box Quality defect that materialized after repeated pressure and temperature cycles. I won’t be able to confirm that because AutoZone kept the failed part and refuses to return it to me for further analysis. I have photos of the damaged oil line proving it was an internal defect. After analyzing the part and concluding that it was a latent quality defect, I filed a damage claim with AutoZone asking that AutoZone provide me with the parts, long block, to repair my Wife’s Blazer.

    Betrayed by AutoZone;
    AutoZone’s ultimate betrayal was summarily denying my claim without providing any failure analysis data on the failed part. Without inspecting the part and providing any failure analysis, AutoZone denied my claim because the part was recently replaced under a Lifetime Warranty and I did not have a receipt for a new purchase of the part within one year. The oil line was replaced under warrant because it was leaking. It is obvious I would not have a receipt for new purchase because it was a warranty replacement. The Warranty replacement of the defective Oil Line is documented in my lengthy AutoZone Customer History under Phone Number 970-232-9321.

    Further Betrayal;
    To add further insult, AutoZone refused to return the damaged oil line to me for Failure Analysis, thus preventing any possible conclusion why the part failed. Is that Legal? Was that done to protect AutoZone from a Loyal Customer?

    What’s next? I cashed out my remaining rewards balance and have not purchased another part or maintenance item form AutoZone since. I plan to spend my Auto Repair and Maintenance Dollars anywhere but AutoZone.

  16. Horrible service from Janet at the Garden Grove store on Nelson. I went to get a battery tested, it is a Autozone battery that was still under warranty. I knew from the start that there would be a problem with Janet as she made a big huff about having to walk 10 feet with the battery tester to check my battery. I recently purchased the car used and showed Janet the date code on the battery to show that it was still under warranty. After this Janet refused to honor any warranty. I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years, Janet looked up my account to check as well. After this experience I will no longer shop at autozone.
